Obama Birth Certificate Probe: ‘Forgery’

Arizona sheriff Joe Arpaio said Thursday he believes President Barack Obama’s birth certificate is a forgery.

Arpaio, the 79-year-old Republican sheriff of Maricopa County, made the announcement at an Arizona news conference following his months-long, volunteer-staffed probe into the birth certificate released by the Obama administration last year.

Theories that the president’s birth certificate is fake have been widely discredited.

“A six-month long investigation conducted by my cold case posse has lead me to believe there is probable cause to believe that President Barack Obama’s long-form birth certificate released by the White House on April 27, 2011, is a computer-generated forgery,” Arpaio said.

A report lays out what Arpaio’s investigators said were “anomalies” on the birth certificate released by the White House that are “inconsistent with features produced when a paper document is scanned.”

“Based on all of the evidence presented and investigated, I cannot in good faith report to you that these documents are authentic,” Arpaio said. “My investigators believe that the long-form birth certificate was manufactured electronically and that it did not originate in paper format as claimed by the White House.”

In addition to the birth certificate, his investigators also claimed Obama’s Selective Service card was forged.

Despite the findings, Arpaio repeatedly insisted he was not yet accusing anybody — including Obama — of committing a crime.

“A continuing investigation is needed to identify the identity of the person or persons involved in creating the alleged birth certificate forgery, and to determine who, if anyone, in the White House or the state of Hawaii may have authorized the forgery,” Arpaio said. “That‘s what we’re working to, to find out who did it.”

Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley Is Gleeful To Destroy Marriage

Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley has signed a measure legalizing gay marriage, joining seven other states and the District of Columbia.

The Maryland Democrat signed the bill Thursday, a week after its final passage in the Legislature. According to the Associated Press, the new law is set to take effect in January 2013.

Opponents, however, are expected to petition the law to a referendum on the November ballot.

“More so than equal rights, more so than fairness, more so than justice or injustice, the word that allowed us to move forward was really dignity: The dignity of every home, the dignity of a job, the dignity of work, the dignity of every family, the dignity of every individual,” O’Malley was quoted as saying. “When we succeed, if this goes to a referendum, I believe it will be because of that evolution of the public discourse.”

AP reports referendum organizers will need to collect almost 56,000 signatures to put the measure before voters and are expected to rely heavily on churchgoers to achieve that goal. Some pastors in predominantly black churches have begun using their sermons to push the referendum.

Only In America: Ohio School Shooter Charged as Juvenile

An aunt says relatives of the 17-year-old suspect in a deadly Ohio high school shooting are grieving with the community but don’t have answers to questions surrounding the attack.

Charges filed Thursday in Geauga County juvenile court accuse T.J. Lane of killing three students and wounding two others in the shooting Monday at Chardon High School, about 30 miles east of Cleveland. It’s the first step in proceedings that could see him charged as an adult and facing the possibility of life without parole if convicted.

The Tribune-Review in Pittsburgh reports that Lane’s aunt, Heather Lane, said earlier by email that her family is “weeping and praying” for Chardon. She says they’re grateful for people who have prayed for them and urged the public to continue praying for the victims.

THIS IS A BREAKING NEWS UPDATE. Check back soon for further information. AP’s earlier story is below.

A teenager was charged Thursday with killing three students in a school shooting, the first step in proceedings that could see him charged as an adult and facing the possibility of life without parole if convicted.

The charges filed in Geauga County juvenile court accuse T.J. Lane, 17, of killing three students and wounding two others in the shooting Monday morning at Chardon High School, about 30 miles east of Cleveland.

He is charged with three counts of aggravated murder, two counts of attempted aggravated murder and one count of felonious assault

No motive has been determined. Prosecutor David Joyce has said that victims were selected at random and that Lane is someone “who’s not well.”

Children convicted of juvenile crimes in Ohio are typically behind bars only until they turn 21 in the most serious cases. But Joyce has already said he plans to charge Lane as an adult, meaning he could face life in prison without parole if convicted of similar adult charges.

Minors are not eligible for the death penalty in Ohio, whether they are convicted as juveniles or adults.

Lane, who attends an alternative school for students who haven’t done well in traditional schools, admitted taking a .22-caliber pistol and a knife to Chardon High and firing 10 shots at a group of students sitting at a cafeteria table Monday morning, Joyce said.

Killed were Demetrius Hewlin, 16, Russell King Jr., 17, and Daniel Parmertor, 16. The motive for the shooting is unclear, though Joyce has appeared to rule out theories involving bullying or drug-dealing.

Read the Bestiality-Tinged Email About Barack Obama

Montana Chief U.S. District Judge Richard Cebull is facing tough scrutiny this week after he forwarded an email containing a joke about Barack Obama’s mother possibly having sex with a dog.

So what did the email say? It’s short, but to the point:

“Normally I don’t send or forward a lot of these, but even by my standards, it was a bit touching. I want all of my friends to feel what I felt when I read this. Hope it touches your heart like it did mine.

“A little boy said to his mother; ‘Mommy, how come I’m black and you’re white?’ His mother replied, ‘Don’t even go there Barack! From what I can remember about that party, you’re lucky you don’t bark!
