Letter to the Editor:
So we Marylanders have a choice between a Democratic comptroller who warns us we must pay higher taxes, a Republican former governor who did raise taxes and a current Democratic governor who stealth-taxes us?
How about we elect a General Assembly in 2014 that will respond to its constituency by reducing the budget and not raising taxes any further?
Surely the Maryland General Assembly can be pressured to stop the spending. For those of us in Legislative District 20, it may seem like a lost cause because our legislators are at the core of the overspending problem. But even here, we cannot give up.
A tighter budget, not additional taxes, will resolve the budget deficit problem. We need to let them know that.
