What was the American Revolution all about?

images (10)To understand that, we need to go to the beginning and look at what was going on in the Kingdom of Britain, as it was known back then, under the rule of King George 111.

In 1763 The British were victorious! They had won The French and Indian War! However, the war had cost the crown a great deal of mulah and Georgie boy wanted to recoup some of it.

While the crown’s attention had been diverted by the war, the thirteen American colonies had become more independent. (as you do) Their governors had gained influence, control and momentum. Now that just wouldn’t do. So Georgie and his pals decided that the colonies should pay for the war in the form of newly imposed taxes and laws as a way of regaining control again.
