The Sons and Daughters of Liberty

By Jed Gladstein

From “astro-turfers” to “tea-baggers”… from “racists” to “domestic terrorists”… the men and women of the American Tea Party movement have been consistently vilified by the powers-that-be in this country. The political elite in Washington, D.C. are determined to malign and destroy the Tea Party movement, and the media elite are fully complicit in that assault. The education elite are busy writing books and articles trying to justify the wholesale condemnation of millions of Americans who disagree with the policies of the political elite, and the religious elite are working overtime to help them do just that. In such circumstances, the American people might be forgiven for wondering what the Tea Party movement is all about and why the powers-that-be are so worked up over it. Well, as Henry Wadsworth Longfellow once said, “Listen, my children, and you shall hear…”

Many years ago, before there was a United States of America, there was an English king and an English Parliament who believed it was okay to tax the people living on the North American continent without their consent. The king and Parliament also thought it was appropriate to pass laws requiring the American people to purchase products only from designated suppliers. That didn’t sit too well with the American people, because they were used to figuring things out on their own and doing things for themselves. When problems arose, they fixed the problems. It never occurred to them to rely on the government to tell them what to do or how to live their lives.

So, when the government began telling the American people whom to buy tea from, and then imposed a tax on every piece of paper the people used in daily commerce, the people were deeply offended. Some of them gathered together in local groups to see what they could do about an overweening government whose policies were an affront to their traditional civil liberties. Those groups comprised people from all walks of American life — laborers, artisans, shopkeepers, merchants, businessmen, printers, and lawyers. Pretty soon, the little groups started to grow, and they spread across the land. Before long, they became known as the “Sons of Liberty,” and after a couple of years, they grew into a powerful political force in America.

At first, the Sons of Liberty tried to petition the government for a redress of grievances, but the government refused to heed the popular outcry against policies that the people considered tyrannical. Finally, in 1773, a group of citizens decided to protest in a way the government could not ignore. On December 16, they tossed 342 crates of British tea into the Boston harbor. That was the first Tea Party protest in America, and it is rightly celebrated as a symbol of the determination of the American people to be free instead of allowing a tyrannical government to tell them how to live their lives.

Today, the government has once again passed laws and implemented policies that are an affront to the traditional civil liberties of the American people. In their overweening arrogance, the political elite have wrested from the people control over entire sectors of American society. With profound contempt for the principle of limited government embodied in the Constitution, the elite proclaim a right to control the health, education, and welfare of a citizenry whose national existence is a testament to the yearning of people to be free from government control of their lives.

Wherever the people look today, they find government regulations that limit the scope of their activities and government regulators who fasten themselves upon the body politic and suck the life blood out of a free society. Using a modern version of Orwellian Newspeak, the elite pander to their own hubris in the name of “reform” and “compassion.” But while they single-mindedly go about reforming American society in the name of compassion, they are deliberately disarticulating the sinews of American power and ineluctably eroding the spirit of freedom in America.

The more government reforms our economy, the more difficult it becomes for the average American citizen to earn a decent living. The more government reforms education, the more uneducated American citizens become. The more government reforms health care, the more expensive medical treatment becomes, and the less capable our medical services sector becomes, at providing medical care. In fact, as the American people look around at government involvement in their lives today, they would be hard-pressed to find a single significant viable social program in the last sixty years that the government can claim to have successfully created and managed.

As a result of the massive and pervasive government interference in the lives of the American people, our country now faces a debt and deficit crisis that threatens to bankrupt the middle class and turn the United States into a third-world country. Many people in America recognize this threat. They are the men and women of the modern American Tea Party movement. They understand that as government power increases, individual liberty decreases. Having connected those dots, they are determined to reclaim both liberty and prosperity from the “tax-and-spend” elites of both political parties.

Today’s Tea Party patriots are the spiritual descendants of the Sons of Liberty. Like their historic forebears, they are everyday Americans — men and women from every walk of life who understand the political calculus of freedom. That is why they espouse the civic ideals of limited government and personal responsibility that animated the Founders of this country. Tea Party patriots know that it is necessary to scale back government intervention in the lives of the American people in order for the people to enjoy the blessings of liberty, including the prosperity that liberty can produce and sustain. They understand that liberty is not received as a gift from government. It belongs to the people as a God-given right, and government cannot be allowed to ignore or diminish it.

Tea Party patriots are not the “astro-turfers” of Nancy Pelosi’s bewildered imagination. They are genuinely concerned American citizens like the patriots of 1773. They are not the “tea baggers” of Janine Garafolo’s degraded political discourse. They are decent people who always thought that a tea bag was something you put into a cup of hot water. They are not the “racists” that the mainstream media prattles on about at every opportunity. They are against the policies of the current government despite the fact that Mr. Obama is half-black, not because of it. They are not the “domestic terrorists” of Janet Napolitano’s paranoid fantasies. They are the kind of Americans who refused to allow terrorists to commandeer United Airlines Flight 93 to attack an American target on September 11, 2001.

The men and women of the American Tea Party movement are your neighbors. They are the people who will stand by your side in times of trouble. They are the citizens who see the danger to our nation from a tyrannical government, and who have the courage to stand up and be counted among the Sons and Daughters of Liberty. Just as Paul Revere rode through the night so many years ago to warn his fellow citizens that the government was on the march to suppress their freedom, today’s Tea Party patriots are sounding the alarm about a modern form of an ancient government tyranny.

Pentagon creates specialist online unit to counter cyber attack amid growing fears of militarisation of the internet

By: Peter Beaumont

The US military has appointed its first senior general to direct cyber warfare – despite fears that the move marks another stage in the militarisation of cyberspace.

The newly promoted four-star general, Keith Alexander, takes charge of the Pentagon’s ambitious and controversial new Cyber Command, designed to conduct virtual combat across the world’s computer networks. He was appointed on Friday afternoon in a low-key ceremony at Fort Meade, in Maryland.

The creation of America’s most senior cyber warrior comes just days after the US air force disclosed that some 30,000 of its troops had been re-assigned from technical support “to the frontlines of cyber warfare”.

The creation of Cyber Command is in response to increasing anxiety over the vulnerability of the US’s military and other networks to a cyber attack.

James Miller, the deputy under-secretary of defence for policy, has hinted that the US might consider a conventional military response to certain kinds of online attack.

Although Alexander pledged during his confirmation hearings before the Senate committee on armed services last month that Cyber Command would not contribute to the militarisation of cyberspace, the committee’s chairman, Senator Carl Levin expressed concern that both Pentagon doctrine, and the legal framework for online operations, had failed to keep pace with rapid advances in cyber warfare.

In particular Levin voiced concern that US cyber operations to combat online threats to the US, routed through neutral third countries, “could have broad and damaging consequences” to wider American interests.

Plans for Cyber Command were originally conceived under President George W Bush. Since taking office Barack Obama has embraced the theme of cyber security, describing it last year as “one of the most serious economic and national security challenges [the US faces] as a nation”.

During his confirmation hearing, Alexander said that the Pentagon’s networks were being targeted by “hundreds of thousands of probes every day” adding that he had “been alarmed by the increase, especially in this year”.

Cyber warfare has increased rapidly in scale and sophistication with China accused of being at the forefront of prominent recent attacks, including the targeting of Google and 20 other companies last year as well as “Titan Rain” in 2003 – a series of coordinated attacks on US networks. Russian and North Korean hackers have also been accused of large-scale attacks.

Moscow was accused of being behind a massive cyber assault on Estonia in 2007 – the second largest cyber warfare operation ever conducted.

While Alexander has tried to play down the offensive aspects of his command, the Pentagon has been more explicit, stating on Friday that Cyber Command will “direct the operations and defence of specified Department of Defense information networks [involving some 90,000 military personnel] and prepare to, when directed, conduct full-spectrum military cyberspace operations in order to enable actions in all domains, [to] ensure US allied freedom of action in cyberspace and deny the same to our adversaries.”

The complex issues facing Cyber Command were thrown into relief earlier this year when the Washington Post revealed details of a so-called “dot-mil” operation by Fort Meade’s cyber warfare unit, backed by Alexander, to shut down a “honeytrap website” set up by the Saudis and the CIA to target Islamist extremists planning attacks in Saudi Arabia.

The Pentagon became convinced that the forum was being used to co-ordinate the entry of jihadi fighters into Iraq.

Despite the strong objections of the CIA, the site was attacked by the Fort Meade cyber warfare unit. As a result, some 300 other servers in the Saudi kingdom, Germany and Texas also were inadvertently shut down.

Of equally concern to those who had opposed the operation, it was conducted without informing key members of the Saudi royal family, who were reported to be “furious” that a counter-terrorism tool had been shut down.

The issue of cyber warfare – and how to combat it – has become an increasingly fraught one.

The need to have electronic warfare capabilities, say those who support them, has been proven repeatedly by the apparent success of hostile attacks on government networks, including last year’s massive denial of service assault on networks in both the US and Korea.

Last year, hackers also accessed large amounts of sensitive data concerning the Pentagon’s Joint Strike Fighter programmer.

The difficulties facing the new command were underlined in March by former CIA director Michael V Hayden, who said that the Saudi operation had demonstrated that cyber warfare techniques were evolving so rapidly that they were now outpacing the government’s ability to develop coherent policies to guide its use.

“Cyber was moving so fast that we were always in danger of building up precedent before we built up policy,” Hayden said.

U.S. Implicates North Korean Leader in Attack

WASHINGTON — A new American intelligence analysis of a deadly torpedo attack on a South Korean warship concludes that Kim Jong-il, the ailing leader of North Korea, must have authorized the torpedo assault, according to senior American officials who cautioned that the assessment was based on their sense of the political dynamics there rather than hard evidence.

The officials said they were increasingly convinced that Mr. Kim ordered the sinking of the ship, the Cheonan, to help secure the succession of his youngest son.

“We can’t say it is established fact,” said one senior American official who was involved in the highly classified assessment, based on information collected by many of the country’s 16 intelligence agencies. “But there is very little doubt, based on what we know about the current state of the North Korean leadership and the military.”

Nonetheless, both the conclusion and the timing of the assessment could be useful to the United States as it seeks to rally support against North Korea.

On Monday, South Korea’s president, Lee Myung-bak, who has moved cautiously since the assault, is expected to call for the United Nations Security Council to condemn the attack and is likely to terminate the few remaining trade ties between North and South that provide the North with hard currency.

But those steps have little chance of proving meaningful unless China, which hosted Mr. Kim two weeks ago, agrees to join the condemnation and refuses to make up whatever revenue North Korea loses from any trade embargoes. China, North Korea’s last true ally, has traditionally been reluctant to pressure the North too much, even when the North Koreans conducted nuclear tests, for fear of toppling the government and sending a flood of refugees across its border.

Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton will be in Beijing when the South Korean action is announced, leading a delegation of 200 American officials, including roughly half of the Obama administration’s cabinet, in an annual “strategic dialogue” with Chinese leaders on a variety of economic and political issues.

So far, at least in public, both American and South Korean leaders have been careful never to link Mr. Kim to the sinking of the Cheonan in March, which killed 46 sailors. Officials said that was in part because of the absence of hard evidence — difficult to come by in the rigidly controlled North — but also largely because both countries were trying to avoid playing into Mr. Kim’s hands by casting one of the worst attacks since the 1953 armistice as another piece of lore about the Kim family taking on South Korea and the West.

The North’s state propaganda surrounding that imagery has been used by the Kim family to sustain two generations of leaders since the end of World War II. Under the leading theory of the American intelligence agencies, Mr. Kim ordered the attack to re-establish both his control and his credentials after a debilitating stroke two years ago, and by extension reinforcing his right to name his son Kim Jong-un as his successor.

North Korea has denied any involvement in the attack, despite the presentation of forensic evidence on Thursday — including parts of the torpedo found in the wreckage — that experts from three countries said established that the torpedo was launched from a North Korean submarine.

Although the American officials who spoke about the intelligence assessment would not reveal much about what led them to conclude that Mr. Kim was directly involved, one factor appeared to be intelligence that he appeared on April 25, the anniversary of the founding of the Korean People’s Army, with a military unit that intelligence agencies believe to have been responsible for the attack.

Mr. Kim used the event to praise the group, Unit 586, the officials said, and around that time a fourth star appears to have been given to Gen. Kim Myong-guk, who officials believe may have played a crucial role in executing the attack. General Kim is believed to have been demoted to a three-star general last year, perhaps in response to the humiliation that took place after a North Korean ship ventured into South Korean waters. The North Korean ship was all but destroyed, and some analysts believe the attack on the Cheonan, which was in South Korean waters, was planned as retribution.

“Nobody is going to take overt credit for the sinking,” said Jonathan Pollack, a professor at the Naval War College and an expert on North Korea’s military. “But Kim’s visit to this unit has all the hallmarks of congratulating them for a job well done.”

The senior American officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the intelligence assessment is classified, said they ruled out the idea that General Kim or another military officer decided on his own to attack, but they did not explain how they reached that conclusion.

Victor Cha, a North Korea expert at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington and a former official in the National Security Council during President George W. Bush’s second term in office, noted that when Mr. Kim was on the rise three decades ago, “there were similar incidents designed to build his credibility” as a leader.

The Cheonan episode has posed some difficult choices for the Obama administration at a time when its national security team is preoccupied with Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iran.

In an intense series of back-channel discussions with Mr. Lee, senior administration officials, including President Obama, have praised South Korea for its calm response. Like the South Koreans, American officials fear that any military retaliation against the North could quickly escalate, leading to rocket attacks on Seoul, major casualties and a panic among investors in South Korea. At the same time, they worry that if North Korea gets through the episode without paying a price — one that American officials decline to define — it could embolden the North Korean military.

The North Korean defense commission, which rarely issues public statements, turned out a fiery-sounding warning last week, saying it would respond to any military retaliation with “all-out war.”

Arozona Law Inspires Other States…

by James M. Simpson

Maryland’s intrepid state Delegate Pat McDonough has announced a plan to deal with illegal immigration in Maryland similar to the law recently passed in Arizona. He will introduce this bill in the next legislative session. Maryland’s Montgomery County Gazette issued a predictably critical assessment of the plan, saying McDonough, “never let political reality stand in the way of his crusades,” and declared his proposal dead on arrival before it has even been introduced.

The Gazette response, typical of leftist news media everywhere, displays in microcosm the arrogant myopia that is driving newsrags out of business across this nation. Who in God’s green earth do these people think they are? When and how can any problem be addressed if every controversial proposal is attacked and written off before it is even aired? This is precisely the kind of attitude that gave rise to the Tea Party movement and it is causing a seachange in national politics. The Gazette should take note. Trouble is, liberals are so smug and self-righteous, they can’t see reality even when it is dangled in front of their noses.

Unfortunately, it is the rest of us who pay for their self-serving, destructive polices, and we are frankly fed up. Arizona Governor Jan Brewer deserves credit for braving the denizens of political correctness to enact the Arizona bill. She has set off a chain reaction that has already seen similar legislation proposed in at least nine other states.

Before they start criticizing the Arizona law, which mirrors federal law – not that such irony would ever stop them – Obama and the Democrats should read the sixteen page bill. Or maybe they should learn why it is the federal government’s failure that prompted passage of the law in the first place. The Montgomery County Gazette got exactly one sentence correct in their diatribe against McDonough when they said, “The federal government basically has abdicated its would-be, should-be role.”

Of course they immediately negated any hope of intellectual redemption by reverting to form and advocating for Congress’s latest try at an amnesty bill.

Oh yes, the Democrats and maybe one or two really stupid Republicans are proposing immigration “reform” like they did in 2007. But as in 2007, it is nothing more than an amnesty bill, and we already know from the 1986 law, that amnesty doesn’t work. It didn’t work then and it won’t now.

But that fact is irrelevant to Democrats, because it is not designed to work. It is designed, like practically everything else that Democrats do, to undermine the rule of law and overwhelm federal, state and local crimefighting, health and welfare budgets according to the Cloward-Piven Strategy of Manufactured Crisis, while securing more reliable voting blocs. This last is an especially high priority for the Obama administration and Congress this year because they are going to need every vote they can get to keep power, and they know it.

The Los Angeles Times, which seems to be coming somewhat to its senses lately (it correctly recognized Senator Barbara Boxer as not having “adequate intellectual firepower” for the job) had the decency to allow Dan Stein of the Federation for American Immigration Reform to make the case for the Arizona law in an OpEd. But that the Gazette, or the Baltimore Sun for that matter, should be so open to first amendment expression. To wit:

* [Arizona] state taxpayers spend more than $2 billion a year on education and healthcare for illegal immigrants and their children
* kidnappings in Phoenix are at an all-time high
* criminal drug, illegal immigrant and other contraband smuggling is epidemic
* Arizonans have endured decades of federal neglect of immigration enforcement
* killing last month of rancher Robert Krentz — police suspect by an illegal immigrant — is only the latest graphic example of widespread lawlessness on the border

The left deliberately raises the strawman argument of “racism” and “racial profiling” to distract from these critical realities. Arizona’s problems are being replicated all over the country as a flood of illegal immigrants, including criminals, terrorists and gangs bring with them violence, diseases once thought to be eradicated, like tuberculosis and leprosy, and overwhelming burdens to our welfare system, the courts and medical facilities.

A 2006 report from the Dallas Morning News spotlights just one of these issues. The Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act of 1986 requires hospitals to accept pregnant women in need of emergency help, and imposes a $50,000 fine for violations, so no hospital can turn down illegals. But Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas goes further, offering free prenatal care to pregnant mothers.

Not surprisingly, Parkland gets the lion’s share of indigent and illegal immigrant mothers. Some of its statistics are eye-popping. For example, a 2006 patient survey indicated that 70 percent of mothers who gave birth at Parkland in the first three months of that year were illegal immigrants. In 2004, the hospital spent $70.7 million delivering 15,938 babies.

Yet Parkland is proud of its service to the community and is not troubled by the high cost. As Parland’s CEO said, “We are the safety net hospital for Dallas County, and these folks are residents of our county.” Nice sentiment, but as always, the wise bet is to follow the money. Parkland earned a profit of $7.9 million in obstetrics that year – a hefty 10 percent return! Nice work if you can get it.

So who pays for this cadillac care to indegents and illegals, many of whom are taking advantage of the services to have anchor babies? According to the News article, about $44 million came from state and federal Medicaid funds while Dallas County taxpayers shelled out $31.3 million.

Once again, the taxpayer is on the hook so why should the hospital care?

Like the Arizona law, Del. McDonough’s proposal would give law enforcement the teeth it needs to tackle this problem. And in Maryland, thanks to the Democrats’ sanctuary state policies, the problem is immense. According to a report by the Federation for American Immigration Reform:

* There are currently about 250,000 illegal immigrants in the State of Maryland.
* Illegal immigrants cost Marylanders $1.4 billion per year in education, medical care and incarceration. This represents 70 percent of Maryland’s current $2 billion budget deficit.
* Between 2002 and 2008, the foreign-born population in Maryland grew by 34.6 percent. Meanwhile, the number of students requiring english instruction has grown a whopping 93.7 percent!
* Marylanders spend more than $966 million annually on education for an estimated 80,800 children of illegal aliens.
* nearly $250 million additional is spent on providing special English instruction to an estimated 35,000 children of illegal aliens.
* Almost 10 percent of public school children in Maryland have illegal immigrant parents.
* These costs would be considerably higher if other cost areas such as assistance programs for needy families or welfare benefits for American workers displaced by illegal alien workers or resulting from depressed wages were included in the calculation.

Given the high proportion of mindless living in Maryland, McDonough may well be tilting at windmills, but the worm is turning, and if someone doesn’t act nothing will happen.

The CASA staff and illegal alien Day Laborers never knew what hit them today.

100 Help Save Maryland members and supporters arrived at the Silver Spring Day Laborer Center, bringing the lawless worker operation to a complete halt. There were plenty of signs, flags and voices letting the CASA center and those driving by that HSM members are opposed to wasting tax dollars on illegal worker centers for illegal aliens.  Instead of furloughing Montgomery County Police officers and Firemen, this taxpayer funded illegal worker center should be shut down instead.

Concerned citizens participated from 10 Maryland Counties – Anne Arundel, Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Carroll, Cecil, Harford, Howard, Montgomery, Prince George’s and Washington.  Our friends from the Cecil County Patriots drive 2 hours to support HSM!

And to think that all arrived today without taxpayer subsidies, taxpayer funded buses or taxpayer funded Metro fare cards.

Baltimore County Candidate for MD Dist 12A, David Aughenbaugh and a rep from MD Senate Candidate Jim Rutledge’s team were also on hand to support HSM.

WUSA TV 9 covered the event which was the lead story on the 6pm news.  A radio station, the Washington Post, Gazette and Silver Spring Voice also interviewed our members.  We also received lots of support from citizens driving by the Center.

One of my favorite scenes today was CASA’s Kimmie Propeack, so-called Director of Community Organizing and Political Action, ranting and raving at the Montgomery County Police Officers monitoring the event about our members being near the CASA entrance.

The Montgomery County Police, who did an excellent job all throughout the event, basically told Kimmie to get back on CASA property as HSM members were fully within their rights to march at the site.  Poor Kimmie.  You can bet MoCo Police Chief Tom Manger will be sending Kimmie a full apology next week.

Overall, it was an excellent event and I thank all the participants from around our great state.  This should send a strong signal to Governor O’Malley, MoCo Executive Ike Leggett and the entire MoCo County Council that MD citizens have had enough of CASA of Maryland and their lawless taxpayer funded illegal worker centers.

Federal immigration program helps keep residents safe

In response to The Gazette article of May 6, “County defends federal immigration initiative,” I want to express my sincere appreciation to county Corrections Director Mary Lou McDonough and County Executive Jack B. Johnson for their decision to participate in the Secure Communities Initiative (SCI). I commend them both for implementing SCI and for resisting calls from organizations which do not respect the rule of law to end Prince George’s  County’s participation in SCI.

Under SCI, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is contacted to check whether detainees are also being sought by ICE for known violations of immigration law. In contrast, under ICE’s more comprehensive 287(g) program, every detainee is investigated by corrections officers regarding their citizenship or immigration status. Consequently, under 287(g), foreign nationals who have entered the U.S. illegally without ICE’s knowledge are identified and reported to ICE.

Although I wish that Prince George’s County, like Frederick County, was enrolled in 287(g), I am happy that my county at least participates in SCI.

Those who have consciously violated federal law and who are being sought by authorities, at the very least, threaten the rule of law in our local communities. Further, for these fugitives — who are hiding from the law enforcement officials actively pursuing them — breaking yet another law, and yet another law, becomes easier to do. That is what SCI does — if fugitives are arrested for a second crime, then they face judicial proceedings for both the new offense and the old offense.

Although opponents of SCI claim that county resolution CR78 prohibits county law enforcement from working with ICE, such an interpretation would be a violation of U.S. immigration law, which states that “Notwithstanding any other provision of Federal, State, or local law, no State or local government entity may be prohibited, or in any way restricted, from sending to or receiving from the Immigration and Naturalization Service information regarding the immigration status, lawful or unlawful of an alien in the United States.”

We citizens demand that our communities are made safe, that the rule of law is respected and upheld, and that criminal activity of any kind not be tolerated.

Thank you Prince George’s County for your continued participation in the Secure Communities Initiative and for working to keep our communities safe.

Switching parties for Ehrlich

As a 30-year Democrat, I am so ashamed of Gov. O’Malley and seriously thinking of changing my political party. He has done nothing right as far as I’m concerned. [Giving] $1.4 billion last year to illegal immigrants, not including their health care. We rank No. 2 in murders and our school system is failing.

Illegal immigrants are given welfare, our state jobs through subcontractors and our state officials say they have no control over that. They are working on our highways and landscaping. When I asked O’Malley why, he said he wants to be fair. What’s fair about giving illegal immigrants welfare, a voter’s card and a driver’s license through 2015? I give up. Robert Ehrlich’s my choice.

Legal Immigrants and 10 Counties Join Help Save Maryland at Rally – My letter to the State in Silver Spring as Casa De Maryland Day Center

Maryland Citizens and Legal Immigrants Unite in Rally against Casa De Maryland and Illegal Aliens in Silver Spring – My Report May 22nd, 2010

Today, Legal Immigrants and Legal Citizens of Maryland joined forces to Rally against the Lawless Organization Casa De Maryland, who blatantly state, “Regardless of Immigration Status, we will find you work”. Today, those Law Breakers held up make shift signs as we caught them completely off guard. The Signs Read, “Maryland Loves Immigrants”, well, that is true in 2 ways, one, yes, if you come here legally, we will embrace you and take you under our wings and support you, second, Maryland Citizens despises the non tax paying, social service, health care sucking dry Illegal Aliens in our State. Funny thing happened along the way, Governor O’Malley took a stance a few weeks ago, and now his comrade in arms, Doug Gansler is doing the same, stating that Illegal Immigration is a Federal Issue. Well, let me tell you something, you could not be further from the truth, if the Illegal Aliens, not undocumented, but Illegal Alien enters our state illegally, not paying taxes, using our tax dollars to promote job placement regardless of immigration status, then yes, it is your problem and since you refuse to uphold the laws of the state and the land, you to are the problem and not the solution. I would show you some pictures from today’s rally, but why should I? You ignore the Maryland Citizen and Legal Immigrant, and would probably find someway to use it against us, after all, we are only standing up for our Constitutional Right to Free Speech and Assemble and Protest. Let this be the pink slip notice to remind you, come November, we, THE PEOPLE will decide if you should stay or go. To the ilk supporters of Casa De Maryland, Joe Vallario, Doyle Neimann, Saqib Ali, Ana Sol, Pena-Melnyk, Harrington, Ramirez, Frosh, Mike Miller, Governor O’Malley, Susan Lee, Jill Carter, and many many others to name a few, you have destroyed Maryland with your support of this Criminal Organization. The People of Maryland are demanding a Federal Led Investigation into the going’s on of this group and we are also demanding the IRS take a look at that financials to find those who are donating from outside of this country who is on the USA watch list.

Today, along with Legal Immigrants who stood with us, we heard the horrific stories of Business Owners loosing their work because of under cutting bids, day laborers taking the jobs that the legal citizen should get, but because Maryland allows the Lawless Activities to continue, boss man picks up these illegals at cheap labor costs and does not report their payroll activities to the IRS, thus, saving a few bucks on the backs of illegals. Maryland has become the poster child for the Law Breakers with Arizona on Illegal Immigration, Driver’s License’s, Voting Rights through Maryland’s Motor Voter Law, Free Health care on our Tax Dollars, Free Education, Incarceration Costs, and on and on and on. When will it stop? I guess when it affects you and your family like it has those who have been murdered, raped, burglarized, hit by an illegal alien driving drunk? How about the poor children being victimized by Illegal Aliens? How about when you lose your business, or contracting work because boss man can pay less for illegals then those who are doing it by the book?

Today, we held Casa De Maryland accountable for their misdeeds and misuse of tax dollars and the assistance of Illegal Aliens in our Communities. We will no longer take a back seat. To the Governor who says he treats everyone Equally regardless of status, well sir, you have a problem enforcing state and federal immigration laws. To Doug Gansler, unless you plain on helping hold these organizations accountable, stay out of it, you are doing more damage supporting Illegal Immigration then fixing the problem. We don’t need you standing up for Gay Rights, we need you to stand up and Investigate the misuse of Tax Dollars and to take action at the requests of Legal Citizens of our once great state. To Peter Franchot, a man of his word and has always done the people’s work, one can only hope you decide to have the IRS look into this Organization and request they open the books.

To those Delegates and Senators who approved more tax dollars this year, and the 1 million dollar vote, you are on notice for November. The Status Quo Politician must be held accountable for not listening to their employer, The Maryland Tax Payer. Remember, you work for me and for the rest of the legal immigrants and legal citizens, not Illegal Aliens or to further your career or yourself.

Today, we took a step forward at reclaiming our once great state, and we will not stop until you do the work and will of the people. You should have seen it down there, trash everywhere in the housing community, about 75 or so Day Laborer’s waiting at the 7-11 at the corner of Piney Branch and University Blvd. That my friend’s is loitering and the police in Montgomery County should be citing those there, at which point, they can check the Immigration Status, but as Chief Manger stated and I quote, “I am not going to ask my officers to take a couple extra hours checking immigration status if they run a red light”, to which I say, why not, that’s why we are paying your salary, to protect the community, not ignore it. It’s time for Maryland to wake up and do what is right, stop ignoring our pleas for help.

In closing, I will remind you, we support the Legal Immigrant who comes here, fills out their paperwork and does it appropriately, if they have to wait, well, so what, that is not a reason to enter our state and steal our jobs and live here illegally. Think about this, if you cross over to other countries, say in Africa, Illegally, you know what they do to you? I think you already know that answer, that is how they deal with breaking the law, but here, you can stay. Or how about this, in Mexico, if you are caught a second time coming into their country illegally, they can jail you for up to 6 years. Lets adopt Mexico’s Illegal Immigration Laws and SB 1070 in Maryland and then we will see how Maryland’s budget will grow, unemployment will drop, and crime will go down. As an official blogger and writer, I can only write what they ask me to write, nothing more, nothing less. Now let’s get down to fixing the problem and make Maryland a Template for the rest of the Country to follow, not a mockery and embarrassment.

Thank you for your time.

Regular Folks United Executive Director, Ron Miller, is angry, just fed up

Ron Miller, Executive Director of Regular Folks United

Fair warning – this is going to be a rant. I tried to let time pass to see if I’d be less passionate and more analytical about this episode, but I’m still angry – with a lot of people. So here goes:

If you national Democrats think we’re so screwed up that a state law, one that mirrors a national law that’s been in place for over 70 years, AND which your chief law enforcement officer and senior homeland security official didn’t read before criticizing it, is equivalent to the human rights abuses of one of the most murderous regimes in history (China), AND is more morally repugnant than the corruption, violence and incompetence of a developing nation (Mexico), then WHY ARE YOU STILL HERE SUCKING ON THE PUBLIC TEAT?

We confer upon you the power and privilege of your positions, yet we’ve had to endure the fact that you think we’re all idiots and, lately, haven’t been particularly shy about expressing it. Compared to most Americans, this nation has been GOOD to you.

I’ve been to your offices on Capitol Hill, where even a freshman member of Congress has a private office, more space than most executives in the corporate world, and a staff tending to his or her every need, a staff that many of you treat like serfs. Yes, I’ve heard you dressing down a hapless young staffer for a mistake, with you screaming loudly enough for all the visitors in the hallways to hear. Party of the little guy, my behind! With your arrogance, sense of entitlement and deficient management and people skills, you wouldn’t last a month in a real job.

You’re driven everywhere you need to go, you’re treated like royalty wherever you go, and people come to you daily to curry your favor. You are besotted with power.

The very least you could do is pretend that this nation and its people mean something to you. Yet a foreign leader stands at a podium in the people’s house, the White House, and accuses us of human rights abuses for protecting our people from the desperate and the criminal that flood across our borders, HIS people, the ones he’s either incapable of feeding and protecting, or that he fears because they kidnap, torture and murder without conscience. And what does our President do? He AGREES with him!

Then that same foreign leader goes before the people’s representatives, again in the people’s house, the United States Capitol, and repeats his slander against America, which has borne the incredible burden of his and his predecessors’ incompetent stewardship of his nation for generations. And what do the Democrats do? THEY STAND AND APPLAUD!

Who are you people, and why do you enjoy the perks and privileges of your position if you find us and our nation so irredeemably flawed? Why did you so ambitiously and desperately seek your offices, posing as protectors of the people, only to turn on us and declare us “un-American” because you don’t agree with us?

If we’re a racist, sexist and xenophobic people that so disgust you that you feel compelled to applaud the ineffective leader of a third-world country, why don’t you step down and leave for more hospitable climes?

By your actions, you’ve revealed yourself to be ignorant, incompetent or criminal. The people of Phoenix, Arizona live in fear because if they look like they have money, they could be abducted off the streets of their own hometown, innocents subjected to unspeakable crimes by people who aren’t supposed to be here.

Does it prick your conscience even a little that this great American city, thanks to either your policy failures or your implicit desire to harbor illegal aliens, is now the kidnapping capital of the nation?

Have you seen the photos of what happens to the victims of these sociopaths? The sight of a human head on a pole, or a mutilated torso with no head, stays with you forever. Do you think beyond the shocking images to the policy failures at the federal level that enabled their barbarism?

Now we are told by a senior Immigration and Customs Enforcement official charged with the duty to enforce our immigration laws, a duty that is integral to the very title of his organization, that he may not assist Arizona in upholding a law that mirrors federal law because he “doesn’t like the law.” Have all you national Democrats lost your minds? Do you understand or care about the job we sent you there to do?

I served my country in the armed forces for over nine years, and my father served for over twenty-two years. Never, ever did we even entertain the notion we would not carry out our lawful duties because we didn’t “like the law.” Had my father or I took such a stance, an honorable discharge would have been out of the question, and disciplinary action would have followed. No soldier, sailor, airman or Marine has the latitude to disobey a lawful order because he or she “doesn’t like the law.”

Under what standard of federal service is it considered proper to heartily applaud a foreign leader for criticizing one of own states? Are you American legislators or “citizens of the world?” And what of the audacity of this foreign leader to judge us when his inability to provide for the safety, security and prosperity of his own people is the catalyst for their illegal migration northward?

Who are you people? Why do you despise your country so much? When will you quit apologizing to nations whose respect for human rights is practically non-existent? Do you not realize they are laughing at you for your appalling lack of perspective? While they are arresting, torturing and murdering with impunity, they are disdainful of your apologies.

Do you wonder, then, why we are angry and fed up with you? Are you that oblivious to the naked contempt you show for us and the country we love so much that we’d die for her? How can anyone who says they love America have any allegiance to today’s Democratic Party? Do you agree with your leaders that America is a criminal nation, an immoral actor on the world stage?

And what of the opposition party, the Republicans? Are you so fond of the perks and privileges that you can’t get up and walk out on a preening, hypocritical head of state when he insults your country? Where is your courage? Don’t you realize that this is a battle of worldviews and not a sporting event where everyone shakes hands after it’s done? Don’t you realize they want nothing less than to remake our nation into something that may resemble the rest of the world, but will no longer be the United States of America, the greatest, most prosperous, most benevolent nation in the history of the planet, and its greatest and most powerful advocate for liberty?

Who are you people? Why do you think you deserve another minute in elected office, much less another term? Will you even understand why you’ve been turned out when it happens in November?

To paraphrase columnist Mona Charen, if we embarrass you, the feeling is mutual.
