27 Rifles Stolen from California Military Base

More than two dozen assault rifles have been stolen from a Southern California military base, and investigators sought the public’s help as they looked to arrest suspects and recover the weapons, federal officials said Friday.

Twenty-six AK-74 assault rifles and one Dragunov sniper rifle were stolen from a supply warehouse at Fort Irwin in San Bernardino County on July 15, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives says in a statement.

Some arrests have been made and one rifle has been recovered, but the agency is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to further arrests, the statement said.

“Community participation is necessary to improve the likelihood that ATF and our law enforcement partners will track down the firearms as well as the criminals who have sought to destabilize our community through illegal activity,” ATF Special Agent in Charge John A. Torres said in the statement.

ATF spokesman Special Agent Christian Hoffman could not say when reached by phone how many were arrested, whether they were military or civilian or what motive they may have had.

He referred those questions to military officials, who made the arrests. Phone and email messages left late Friday for a spokesman from the U.S. Army Criminal Investigations Command, which is investigating the theft along with the ATF and the FBI, were not immediately returned.

Maureen Dowd Calls Regular Americans Terrorists…….

SO I was chatting with Chris Coons, the new Democratic senator from Delaware who had a rare win over the Tea Party when he beat loony Christine “I’ve Dabbled in Witchcraft but I Am Not a Witch” O’Donnell in the midterms.

Coons is a smart guy who’s alarmed at finding himself in a vicious combat zone that makes “Shark Week” look like a guppy party.

He said he felt as if he were in “an alternative universe.” He wonders if the president, rather than using an analogy about late credit card payments, should explain that failing to raise the debt ceiling is like the nation’s refusing to pay its mortgage. And he glumly noted that there would be a “bouquet of blame” for everyone if Congress and the White House allowed the country to “Titanic.”

“You know,” I told the suffering senator, “there is an easy solution.”

He looked up hopefully.

“Witchcraft,” I beamed. “Too bad we don’t have a senator who knows some spells.”

Ancient incantations and eye of newt — not that Newt — would be the only way to conjure up a less embarrassing group of leaders.

The world is watching in fearful — and sometimes gleeful — fascination as the Tea Party drives a Thunderbird off the cliff with the president and speaker of the House strapped in the back. The Dow is hiding under the bed with a glass of single malt. Can it get more excruciating? Apple has more cash than the U.S. government.

Amid the chilling anarchy, there’s not a single strong leader to be seen — not even a misguided one. All the leaders are followers. You have to wonder if President Obama at some level doesn’t want to lead. Maybe he just wants to be loved.

The citizens of this country tremble at the thought that these are the people governing them. Should we stick our money under our mattresses? It’s not only the economy that gets nourished by confidence; it’s also politics.

The maniacal Tea Party freshmen are trying to burn down the House they were elected to serve in. It turns out they wanted to come inside to get a blueprint of the historic building to sabotage it.

Pro-Gay Groups Sue MN School District For Not Discussing Homosexuality in the Classroom

Seven suicides within two years at one suburban school district outside Minneapolis has enflamed a culture war between teachers, parents, and national interest groups in regards to the district’s policy of leaving the discussion on homosexuality outside of the classroom.

The Southern Poverty Law Center and National Center for Lesbian Rights filed a federal lawsuit against Anoka-Hennepin Public Schools last week in regards to the district’s “curricular neutrality” about LGBT issues, and the U.S. departments of justice and education have announced formal investigations into the policy.

“Sam Wolfe, an attorney for the Southern Poverty Law Center, one of the advocacy groups behind the federal lawsuit, wrote the district a letter in May, saying the ‘gag policy’ prevented ‘meaningful’ classroom discussion on lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people.”

CNN reports that parents and friends say that four of the seven dead students in Anoka were either gay, perceived to be gay or questioning their sexuality, and they say at least two of them were bullied over their sexuality.

The official district policy states that:

“Teaching about sexual orientation is not a part of the District adopted curriculum; rather, such matters are best addressed within individual family homes, churches, or community organizations. Anoka-Hennepin staff, in the course of their professional duties, shall remain neutral on matters regarding sexual orientation including but not limited to student led discussions. If and when staff address sexual orientation, it is important that staff do so in a respectful manner that is age-appropriate, factual, and pertinent to the relevant curriculum. Staff are encouraged to take into consideration individual student needs and refer students to the appropriate social worker or licensed school counselor.”

Little Girl Suffocated After Family Members Forced Her Into Plastic Box, Tortured Her

Police have arrested four family members in connection with a 10-year-old child’s suffocating death inside a locked plastic container, which police say she was forced into after taking a popsicle from the freezer.

John and Samantha Allen, both 23, were charged with first-degree murder after police say they confessed to locking Ame Deal in the container while she was in their care. Cynthia Stoltzman, 44, and Judith Deal, 62, were charged with child abuse and kidnapping after admitting to locking the girl in the container on separate occasions.

According to CNN, Stoltzman was the Ame’s legal guardian, but it was not immediately clear how Deal or the Allens were connected to her.

During the initial investigation, the four told police the 10-year-old climbed into the box herself during a game of hide and seek and must have accidentally suffocated. Other family members later came forward and said the box was often used as a punishment.

According to relatives, Ame Deal was one of at least a dozen children who lived in the Phoenix home, and was frequently beaten and abused. She was forced to walk barefoot on the blistering hot sidewalk, eat dog feces and endure beatings with a board called the “butt buster,” the Daily Mail reported.

Neighbors reported hearing screaming over time from the house but never contacted police because they said they didn’t want to break the family up. The other children would sometimes roam with little or not clothes or diapers on, but a witness said Ame was often singled out.

Child Protective Services have taken custody of the remaining children.

Phoenix police spokesman Sgt. Trent Crump told CNN the brutal nature of the case has shocked the department.

“This child died at the hands of those who were supposed to love and care for her. … This case has turned the stomachs of some of our most seasoned detectives,” he said.

SC Democrats hit new low in race baiting

I had to check the calendar and make sure the year was 2011 and not 1850 something when I heard that South Carolina Democrats are criticizing GOP Governor Nikki Haley for checking the “White” box on her voter registration form.

Haley is of Indian descent – no box on the form was provided to reflect that.

The govere she calls herself a minority — when it suits her,” Harpootlian said. “When she registers to vote, she rnor stayed silent on the matter, although her allies accused the Democrats of the lowest-grade politics: race-baiting. Haley, the daughter of Indian immigrants, has never emphasized herself as South Carolina’s first female and minority governor and the country’s second Indian-American governor, but it has earned enormous national notoriety.

Todd Shaw, a political science professor at the University of South Carolina and an expert on African-American studies, said deciding what box to fit a person in is a very Southern concept. To him, race is a matter of self-identification, or allowing a person to check the boxes that may apply.

“I always expect political parties to be political,” Shaw said. “I think what is just as interesting is that it draws all of us into the fight: ‘This is what we really understand this person to be.’ Are you who I say you are or who society says you are?”

Dick Harpootlian, the Democratic Party chairman, said whether Haley listed her race as white or not doesn’t matter to him. The point is, he said, that the governor has a pattern of twisting the truth.

“Haley has been appearing on television interviews saying she is white. She has developed a pattern of saying whatever is beneficial to her at the moment.”

I bolded the section above because it directly contradicts what the Dem chairman was quoted as saying about Haley “saying whatever is beneficial to her at the moment.” This was a racial attack by the Democrats, trying to get whites riled up at her.

Democrats have been pulling this crap in South Carolina for 140 years and know all the tricks. As the article points out, not only is it technically accurate for Haley to identify herself as “white” but that there is no law in South Carolina that says you can’t check whatever box identifying race you choose.

The fact that it is a non issue reveals the Democrat’s true motivation – to stir up trouble for the governor in a most nauseating racial way.
