Calif. Teacher Punishes Students for Saying ‘God Bless You’

When someone sneezes, a common response is, “God bless you.” But one California teacher finds this statement so offensive and disruptive that he’s working to cut back on its usage in the classroom.

Steve Cuckovich, a health teacher at William C. Wood High School in Vacaville, California, has attempted to banish the friendly gesture, as he believes it is both disrespectful and disruptive. To punish students who do, indeed, say “God bless you” after one of their classmates sneezes, he purportedly knocks 25 points off of their grade.

While this story may seem unbelievable at first glance, Cuckovich, himself, has commented on the classroom ban. According to KFSN, he says that the policy isn’t about religion. He simply believes that the gesture is outdated and that it is disruptive. He says:

“When you sneezed in the old days, they thought you were dispelling evil spirits out of your body. So they were saying, ‘god bless you’ for getting rid of evil spirits. But today, I said what you‘re doing doesn’t really make any sense anymore.”

Liberals Are Demonizing Our Republic

There has been a disturbing trend of late. As the world faces crisis and a poor economic outlook on the heels of the Great Recession and on the verge of worse, there are a growing calls for less democracy. The elites that got us into the mess in the first place seem to be those calling for more control so that they can implement their magic plans that have yet to be revealed.

Yesterday the governor of North Carolina, Democrat Bev Perdue speaking at a Rotary Club meeting said, “I think we ought to suspend, perhaps, elections for Congress for two years and just tell them we won’t hold it against them, whatever decisions they make, to just let them help this country recover.” Peter Orszag, President Obama’s former director of the Office of Management & Budget, penned an article in the New Republic as well, entitled ” Too Much of A Good Thing – Why we need less democracy”. His thesis is that gridlock has impaired the government’s ability to act decisively in addressing the economic crisis.

In today’s New York Times, writer Nicholas Kulish conflates the dissatisfaction with the political class for a dissatisfaction with the democratic process. The establishment has decided that it is democracy that is the problem, not the actions of those in power.

In California, the redistricting process mandated by a ballot initiative was hijacked by Democratic Party activists who set in stone a new electoral map remarkably similar to the one previously written in the State Politburo. The president’s health care plan was passed by decidedly undemocratic means, rammed through on Christmas Eve without having been read by a single member of Congress.

In the White House itself, there is a legion of czars who have never faced scrutiny and who make the decisions that affect millions of jobs outside the authority of the constitutionally mandated Cabinet. The imperialization of the presidency has been accelerated like never before under the current administration.

And now that the policies of the government look to be failing, and with the popularity of the president and his party at historic lows, they have resorted to an assault on the democratic process. How ironic that the party of Jefferson now finds itself yearning for the Directorate of revolutionary France.

Protesters occupy Wall Street today looking for justice and equality in the face of a financial meltdown where there has been no accountability. One may question their politics and motivations, but the facts stand in evidence that criminal malfeasance almost brought down our economy and still the casino mentality holds sway. Our society has become oligarchic. There are more laws about accountability, and yet there is less accountability than at any time in memory. There buck stops somewhere out in the indeterminate there.

And yet government continues to accrue power. As old bureaucracies such as FNMA and the Post Office demonstrate the incompetence of our government, it has created new ones focused upon control such as the Department of Homeland Security. We are militarizing our law enforcement agencies even as they create their own crises such as Fast & Furious. These are very disturbing trends.

At a time when more people than ever from across the political spectrum are questioning authority the people in authority are questioning democracy itself.

The literature and history of the republic is replete with warnings by the Founding Fathers against authoritarianism. Benjamin Franklin famously stated after the Constitutional Convention when asked about our form of government, “A Republic, if you can keep it”. Jefferson said “When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty.” People fear government today more than at any time in our history.

When leading public officials question the fundamental principles that have served our country so well and use our institutions to further a statist agenda with no accountability, we at risk of losing our basic human rights.

Non blond-haired, blue eyed man who isn’t a Christian charged in terror plot

We don’t want to say his nationality or religion. That might set off the PC Brigades who constantly remind us that White Christians are terrorists too and identifying a Muslim as a terrorist is unfair and only gets people mad at worshipers of Allah.

True. And it’s also true that White Christians can be terrorists too. In this case, however – as in 99% of all terrorist plots – the perp just happens to be a Muslim.

The Hill:

The plans focused on the use of three small remote-controlled drone-like aircraft loaded with C-4 plastic explosives, which he planned to fly into the Capitol and the Pentagon using GPS equipment, according to the DOJ.

The DOJ stressed that the public was never in danger from the explosive devices, which it said were controlled at all times by undercover FBI officials who closely monitored Ferdaus as he allegedly developed his plot.

According to the DOJ, Ferdaus aimed to create a devastating psychological impact with the attacks, saying at one point, “I just can’t stop; there is no other choice for me.”

[…]

“During a June 2011 meeting, he appeared gratified when he was told that his first phone detonation device had killed three U.S. soldiers and injured four or five others in Iraq,” according to the DOJ. “Ferdaus responded, ‘That was exactly what I wanted.'”

Last week, Ferdaus gave the FBI agents a training video he made demonstrating how to make cellphone detonators, authorities said.

According to the DOJ, a focal point of Ferdaus’s plots revolved around “jihad” and his desire to carry out the will of Allah.

Note the word jihad in scare quotes – as if it really doesn’t exist and can be safely put out of mind as a motivation for the plot.

Oh – and don’t forget. Not all Muslims are terrorists:

The U.S. attorney for the District of Massachusetts, Carmen M. Ortiz, stressed that any underlying religious motives to Ferdaus’s actions should not reflect on the Muslim culture at-large.

“I want the public to understand that Mr. Ferdaus’s conduct, as alleged in the complaint, is not reflective of a particular culture, community or religion,” Ortiz said.

“In addition to protecting our citizens from the threats and violence alleged today, we also have an obligation to protect members of every community, race and religion against violence and other unlawful conduct,” he said.

Duh.

Still waiting for the moderate Muslims to weigh in, except that the US attorney pretty much took the words right out of their mouths. They will condemn the terrorist but reiterate what the US attorney was careful to point out; don’t judge us by the actions of the worst of us; judge us by the actions of all of us.

Fair enough. When I hear an unqualified condemnation of not only the actions of this terrorist, but all Islamic terrorism, I will judge the Muslim community in America as being worthy of admiration and support.

Beck Special: See Who Is Pushing Caliphate in America Right Now

n less tumultuous times, we might be able to ignore the rantings and ravings of a few hundred Muslim extremists at an annual conference in Chicago pushing for the restoration of the caliphate.

But with riots breaking out around the world, Greece ready to default, the dark turn of the Arab Spring, and Occupy Wall Street protestors chipping away at the foundations of capitalism, a new GBTV special shows we must recognize the threat posed by the Khilafa conference speakers and their audience.

Vigilance and awareness are especially important considering this vulnerable time in the West. As the U.S. economy teeters on the brink of another major recession, America’s influence in the Muslim world is dwindling, and many see this as time to push radical change.

For the members of the extremist group Hizb u-Tahrir who run the Khilafah conference, the dream of a caliphate has never appeared closer to reality. Egypt, Libya, and Tunisia are up for grabs. Yemen and Syria could be next. Islamization appears on the rise, and Hizb u-Tahrir is trying to hasten America’s collapse.

Janeane Garofalo: Herman Cain Helps GOP Hide ‘Racist Elements of the Republican Party’

Biden: Voters should blame Obama, not Bush, for economy

Vice President Joe Biden told Florida radio station WLRN on Thursday that voters should hold President Barack Obama, not former President George W. Bush, accountable for the poor state of America’s economy.

Conservative PAC American Crossroads circulated the startling statement Thursday afternoon, expecting it will take Democratic campaign strategists by surprise.

“Right now, understandably — totally legitimate — this is a referendum on Obama and Biden and the nature of the state of the economy,” Biden said.

Polls indicating that more Americans blame Bush for the economy than Obama are not relevant, Biden said.

“Even though fifty-some percent of the American people think that the economy tanked because of the last administration, that’s not relevant,” Biden stressed. “What’s relevant is we’re in charge. And right now we are the ones in charge and it’s gotten better, but it hasn’t gotten good enough.”

“I don’t blame them for being mad. We’re in charge,” Biden explained.

Obama versus Alinsky

Rep. Allen West said the other day that he believes Barack Obama is intentionally destroying our economy. He said, “It’s intentional because that’s who this President is. The President is a Marxist who believes in the separation of classes.”

Let’s talk about this idea that Obama may actually be engaged in a conscious attempt to damage the American economy? If so, there’s actually a manual for that! Complete step-by-step instructions on how to wreck a private capitalist economy. It was written by a Marxist named Sul Alinsky, and it’s titled “ Rules for Radicals.” The book is written as a manual “for the Have-Nots on how to take it away.” And to thicken the plot just a bit more … after The Community Organizer won the Democrat nomination in 2008, Saul Alinsky’s son wrote a letter to the editor bragging about how Barack Obama is the model for Alinsky organizing. Here’s your excerpt:

Barack Obama’s training in Chicago by the great community organizers is showing its effectiveness. It is an amazingly powerful format, and the method of my late father always works to get the message out and get the supporters on board. When executed meticulously and thoughtfully, it is a powerful strategy for initiating change and making it really happen. Obama learned his lesson well.

I am proud to see that my father’s model for organizing is being applied successfully beyond local community organizing to affect the Democratic campaign in 2008. It is a fine tribute to Saul Alinsky as we approach his 100th birthday.

L. DAVID ALINSKY

Medfield

If Obama is so well-versed in his organizing skills, why wouldn’t he be well-versed in other areas of Alinksy’s rules? After all, Obama supposedly taught Alinsky workshops while community organizing in Chicago. But let’s return to this concept that Allen West brought up of intentionally destroying our economy. From Alinsky …

“The first step in community organization is community disorganization. The disruption of the present organization is the first step toward community organization. Present arrangements must be disorganized if they are to be displace by new patterns…. All change means disorganization of the old and organization of the new.”

Is this what Barack Obama meant when he said that we were just five days away from “fundamentally transforming the United States of America”? Obama’s current wealth envy campaign plays right into this concept of creating dissatisfaction and disorganization in order to then build an ideal community. From Alinsky …

“An organizer must stir up dissatisfaction and discontent… He must create a mechanism that can drain off the underlying guilt for having accepted the previous situation for so long a time. Out of this mechanism, a new community organization arises….”

Don’t you think the ObamaMedia should have done a better job of vetting Barack Obama before we elected him to be the leader of our nation in a time of economic crisis? Why has it taken years of painstaking effort to piece all of this together?

Valerie Jarrett: The Point of Government Is to Give People a Livelihood so They Can Provide for Their Families

Either Obama is bad at math or a liar

Dear Ruler has been caught. A person can only tell a lie if they know the fact to be untrue at the time they utter it. And that brings us to an unctuous utterance from Dear Ruler. Is he merely demonstrating his ignorance (he has an adequate supply, after all) or was he lying. You be the judge. Here’s the situation …

On multiple occasions, Barack Obama has stated that he should not be paying a lower effective tax rate than a teacher. Here’s just one specific example (though there are many): At a recent town hall meeting in Mountain View, California, Obama said, “Somebody who’s making $50,000 a year as a teacher shouldn’t be paying a higher effective tax rate than somebody like myself.”

That’s a pretty bold claim on the part of our Dear Ruler, wouldn’t you say? So FactCheck.org did the math, and you can guess what they found … Obama’s claim that he pays a lower tax rate than a teacher earning $50,000 a year is false. Here are the details from FactCheck.org.

A single taxpayer with $50,000 of income would have paid 11.9% in federal income taxes for 2010, while the Obamas paid more than twice that rate — 25.3% (and higher rates than that in 2009 and 2008). And if the $50,000-a-year teacher were in Obama’s tax situation — supporting a spouse and two children — he or she would have paid no federal income taxes at all.

The outcome is the same whether we count payroll taxes or not, and even if we look at what the $50,000 earner will pay on 2011 income. Whatever the assumption, the rates Obama paid were higher — and usually much higher.

Obama has made it crystal clear that his 2012 reelection campaign is going to be based on the exploitation of wealth envy. If you’re paying attention you now know that he will resort to flat-out falsehoods in order to pander to the dumb-masses who don’t know any better. Obama is creating his own reality – a reality where the rich don’t pay their “fair share” and he pays taxes at a lower rate than middle-class Americans. Neither of these are true, yet he will continue to push these ideas until people actually believe that they are true.

Know what? I go with liar. These statements are untrue, he knows them to be untrue, and he knows them to be untrue at the moment he makes them. That makes him a liar.

Obama’s own campaign team has acknowledged this strategy of focusing on wealth envy, because he has zero accomplishments when it comes to the economy. His advisors say, “He needs to shift the focus from his stewardship of the economy to the stark choice confronting voters about the nation’s political leadership.” Well no $4it, Sherlock So now jobs are no longer the focus for Obama. Screw jobs, because Obama knows that he doesn’t know how to solve that problem. Instead, let’s focus on leadership. An Obama campaign advisor says, “Most Americans are very concerned about the future and the direction we’re going to take.” I don’t understand why the Obama administration thinks that this is going to work in their favor considering the latest Rasmussen polls show that just 17% of Americans say the country is heading in the right direction. So what direction does Obama want to take this country? Toward a redistributive society where the government seizes money from the Haves and gives it to the Have-Nots; toward a society where political leaders, not the private sector, decide where new economic growth will and will not be, and where new jobs will be created and where they will be eliminated. The LATimes reports, “Obama is tapping into resentment over the growing concentration of wealth in fewer and fewer hands.” They say this “helps the president forge an emotional connection with his base, especially minorities and working-class voters who have been falling behind.”

Does this re-election strategy inspire you to work hard or risk your savings to start the business of your dreams? If Obama manages to pull this thing off based on a re-election campaign of wealth envy, then the achievers in this country better bend over.
