Sexual harassment is considered a form of sex discrimination, falling under the purview of Title IV of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex and/or national origin.
The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) says sexual harassment is unwanted sexual attention or conduct.
“Unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature constitute sexual harassment when this conduct explicitly or implicitly affects an individual’s employment, unreasonably interferes with an individual’s work performance, or creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive work environment,” the EEOC explains.
So, what is an “unwelcome” sexual advance? National Organization for Women (NOW) vice president Erin Matson explained that there are two different types.
First, Matson told The Daily Caller, there is “‘Quid pro quo,’ meaning, ‘do this or you won’t get a promotion’ or ‘do this or you won’t get work.’ For example ‘go out with me, or I won’t put you on this project.’
“A second type is creating a hostile work environment which would be an ongoing pattern of making sexually suggestive comments about an employee which are not necessarily tied to advancement, promotion or pay.”
On the early Tuesday morning broadcast of Fox News Channel’s “Red Eye,” show ombudsman Andy Levy took issue with the recent sexual harassment accusations against Herman Cain being called a “witch hunt” and a “high-tech lynching.” Conservative columnist Ann Coulter was having none of it.
“I am not a fan of racism when there is actual racism,” Coulter said. “When they say opposition to Obamacare is because Obama is black, yes: That is B.S. When they go after Clarence Thomas because they want to keep a pro-life justice off the Supreme Court, who happens to be black — their only defense of this rotten president is, ‘Oh Republicans are racist,’ and then bring the nonsense charges. The same thing that Democrats in the South accused blacks of for a hundred years: ‘Oh, the over-sexual black man’ and then they turned around a hundred years later and do the same thing. This is a high-tech lynching.”
Coulter really let loose when Levy asked if she thought the website Politico would have written a similar story about Cain if he were white.

The rift between President Barack Obama and Catholic interest groups is intensifying. The Catholic Advocate PAC (CA) is so disenchanted with the president’s policies, that the group has launched a campaign urging Obama to “meet with Catholic leaders to discuss compromise.” Here is a description of CA’s work:
At Catholic Advocate, with our affiliated organizations the Catholic Advocate Educational Fund and the Catholic Advocate Candidate Fund, we engage and encourage faithful Catholics to actively participate in the political process to support elected officials and policies that remain consistent with the teachings of the Catholic Church.
Clearly, the political group doesn‘t see the president as being very friendly to the Church’s teachings. The compromise that CA is looking to strike, as Ashley Lopez of The Florida Independent notes, surrounds religious conscious rules. These regulations are best framed on the CA web site:
It is well known the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) forces health care plans to provide coverage of abortion and use our tax dollars to pay for abortion. In addition, PPACA does not protect the conscience rights of health care insurers, providers, and personnel who decline to provide, pay for, provide coverage of, or refer for abortions.
CA is accusing the president of not making good on a pledge to seek “common ground” with Catholics — something he promised to do in a speech he gave early on in his presidency at Notre Dame. Rather than addressing these policies, some Catholics claim that Obama has simply abandoned his word and ignored concerns.

The Wall Street Occupiers have become embroiled in a slew of sexual assault allegations in recent weeks, and now Baltimore joins the list of cities with Occupations that have resulted in rape charges.
In an interview with Fox Baltimore, a distraught woman who had previously joined the Occupiers claimed she was raped and robbed Friday night at the Occupy Baltimore’s waterfront campsite.
She made it clear that none of the Occupiers came to her aid or tried to help her identify her attacker afterwards. The unidentified woman also told reporters that she couldn’t go home because her attacker had taken her bills and knew where she lived.
With her voice cracking from apparent shock and rage, the woman said of Occupy Wall Street that “If this is supposed to be a good organization, it isn’t. It’s a crock.”

On Saturday, we noted the latest claim of sexual assault coming from the Occupy encampment in NYC (one of many reports coming out of the various Occupy encampments across the country). Now, according to claims made in a new video, we may be able to add one more to the growing list.
In a video posted on YouTube yesterday, a woman identified as an Occupy Wall St. protester in New York claimed that a deaf man was “raped” and that the incident might not have been reported to police. She also noted the rampant drug use making things unsafe.
“We’re trying to figure out what to do about [the drugs],” the girl begins in the video, and later hints that she’s part of the community affairs committee. “It’s putting all these people in danger–that, there’s sexual assault going on, we’re trying to deal with that … mostly drunk guys, going, groping girls, there was a guy that got raped, too, here–a deaf younger man.”

Taxes have come to the forefront of debate lately, thanks to Obama’s children — the useful idiots the first thing about taxes if their liberal arts degree’s depended on it. They are only concerned about taxes as they apply to the rich … their knowledge begins and ends with this: The rich need to pay more taxes. You’ll see their signs, “eat the rich” or “make them pay.” So if you are unfortunate enough to engage with one of Obama’s children, be armed with the latest facts on the rich and taxes. From Michael Walsh at National Review:
* In tax year 2009, the top 1 percent of filers — those “millionaires and billionaires” with adjusted gross annual incomes of more $343,927 whom the Occupy Wall Street rabble is demonizing — paid nearly 37 percent of federal income taxes.
* The top 10 percent with incomes over $112,124 (say, a New York City cop and a teacher filing jointly) paid more than 70 percent of income taxes.
* The top 50 percent (starting with princely incomes over $32,396) paid — wait for it — nearly 98 percent of all federal taxes.
Here are a few more fun stats from the Tax Foundation … well … as fun as taxes can be:
* In 2009, the top 1 percent of taxpayers—1,379,822 of them—paid more than the bottom 90% combined. Geographically, this is equivalent to a city the size of San Antonio, TX paying more in income taxes than every person living west of the Mississippi.
* Likewise, the top 0.1 percent—138,000 taxpayers—paid a greater share than the bottom 75%. In other words, a city the size of Dayton, OH would have paid more than a country the size of Germany.
Obama’s wealth envy campaign is based on fear, not facts.
The entertainment world never seems to tire of zombies. The horrifying concept of human beings evolving into dangerous, uncontrollable specimens continuously captivates audiences.
Perhaps this is why political groups are now relying upon this horror theme to help diminish their opponents. This week, following a number of similar political efforts, there’s a new, graphic video that shows zombie Republicans being killed by “machine guns, grenades, garden shears, and chainsaws.”
In September, there was the “Tea Party Zombies Must Die” video game that allowed players to gun down Glenn Beck, Sarah Palin and Michele Bachmann, among others. Then, yesterday, there was a graphic that showcased a zombie version of President Barack Obama with a bullet hole in his head.
This new video, produced by RepublicanZombieDefense.com, is apparently intended to be comedic, although it is quite graphic. A description of the project (via a press release) reads:
…a humor-tinged Democrat activist website today released a controversial Halloween video portraying marriage equality opposition as brain-dead zombies. The comically bloody and graphic video is set on the White House lawn and features Obama 2012 activists beheading, exploding, and maiming politically conservative zombies with machine guns, grenades, garden shears, and chainsaws.
Commentaries on gay marriage and other issues are punctuated with geysers of blood, dismemberment, and explosions as Democratic activists are shown defending President Obama’s White House from Republican presidential zombie voters.

Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley is threatening to ram through a sweeping new land use plan that imposes an environmentalist agenda on the state’s sprawling rural populations — a move that could spark a tax revolt and mass exodus unless it is rewritten, county officials and state legislators told The Daily Caller on Monday.
O’Malley has indicated that he intends to impose what some lawmakers are calling a draconian new environmentalist agenda, known as “Plan Maryland,” through executive order and regulation, rather than through the state legislature, even though his fellow Democrats dominate both chambers.
Plan Maryland’s expensive new mandates for rural home builders will make new residences prohibitively expensive. O’Malley also intends to withhold state funds from new road projects and even new sewage systems if they are proposed outside the “smart growth” boundaries designated by his state planning board.
“As rural legislators and county commissioners, we will do everything we can to stop it through legislative means,” Delegate Kathy Afzali, a Republican from Frederick County told TheDC.
“But if we can’t stop it, we are going to push back. We are going to tell the governor quite simply, we won’t pay for it,” she added. “People are calling for absolute disobedience. We’re not going to take it lying down.”
Republicans often call Maryland a “one-party state” because Democrats control all the levers of power. Democrats can achieve just about anything they want through the state legislature, and count on a Democratic governor to sign it into law.

Less than one week after Dear Ruler was elected president in 2008, Obama’s senior adviser Valerie Jarrett did an interview on Meet the Press. It was then that she declared that President-elect Obama would be “ready to rule from day one.” Little did we know exactly what she meant by this phrase.
Three years later, we now know what the administration meant by this …
Just consider the latest round of administrative actions that Obama is using to address job creation. He is now on his fifth proposal or executive order; the latest is an attempt to reduce certain shortages of prescription drugs. And I don’t expect that this will be the last. Chief dogwasher Jay Carney says that Obama will continue to act “administratively” without Congressional approval in order to “benefit the American people.”
Obama will act unilaterally to do what he thinks is best for the American people. Unfortunately for Americans, Obama isn’t the only politician interested in doing whatever it takes to act in the interest of the American people, regardless of a little teeny tiny thing called the Constitution.
* Illinois Rep. Phil Hare: “I don’t care about the Constitution!”
* Illinois Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr: Congress is like the Confederate states in rebellion; therefore Obama should declare a national emergency and take “extra-constitutional” action to tackle jobs.
* Illinois Senator Dick Durbin: Republicans are “simply standing back while trying to design the bumper sticker for the 2012 election instead of designing the economy to put Americans back to work.”
What is in the water in Illinois? Seems as though the Constitution is irrelevant for politicians from Illinois, and that includes Barack Obama.
