Allen West: I‘ve ’Heard’ 80 House Dems Are Communists, and Obama is ‘Too Scared’ to Debate Me

Rep. Allen West (R-Fla) gave a characteristically energetic speech at a town hall event Tuesday evening, where he estimated that around 80 U.S. Representatives are Communist Party members.

Without identifying the 80 in question, West went on to attack President Obama as being too “scared” to have a public debate with him. The president was in Florida at the time, attending campaign events and speaking on the economy.

The Palm Beach Post reported West’s statements:

West said Obama was “scared” to have a discussion with him. He later said “he’s heard” up to 80 U.S. House Democrats are Communist Party members, but wouldn’t name names.

‘I really wish that, standing here before you, was Allen West and President Obama,’ West said. ‘We could have a simple discussion. But that ain’t ever gonna happen.’

‘Why not?’ an audience member asked.

‘Cuz he was too scared!’ West responded in a mocking voice.

Obama Quips: Reagan Was a ‘Wild-Eyed, Socialist, Tax-Hiking, Class Warrior’

President Obama made a startling exclamation Wednesday at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building by suggesting that his new Buffett rule — increased taxes for the highest income earners — was the same “concept” as what Ronald Reagan would have “called for.“ He also went on to jokingly call the conservative hero a ”wild-eyed socialist.”

The President made the comparison while asking Congress to approve the Buffett rule, a law that would increase taxes on millions of what he calls the “wealthiest” Americans. At the Press Conference, he was flanked by a small group of millionaires and their assistants, who were lobbying to pay their “fair share.”

“I’m not the first president to call for this idea that everyone has to do their fair share,” the president noted. Quoting one Reagan speech, Obama insisted the 40th President would consider our tax loopholes today “crazy.”

“He thought that in America the wealthiest should pay their fair share and he said so,” Obama assured.

He then went on to call the Reagan “That wild eyed, socialist, tax-hiking, class warrior” in a sarcastic reference to some of the titles that Obama himself has accumulated.

Harvard Law Offering ‘Understanding Obama’ Course

……………Taught by Obama Mentor

The sterling halls of academia are often targeted by conservatives for being political “indoctrination” centers, but Harvard Law may be taking it to another level. How? The prestigious school is now reportedly offering a for-credit “Understanding Obama” course.

According to the Harvard course catalog, “Understanding Obama” is taught by the president’s longtime mentor Charles Ogletree. Here’s how the course is described:

This reading group will focus on the way in which race, religion, and politics have impacted the development of President Obama as a leader. We will explore his views as a biracial child, his time as a student at Harvard Law School, the successes and failures of his political campaigns, and the way religion and his views on faith nearly derailed his campaign. Finally, time will be spent analyzing the challenges he faces as President of the United States in establishing both his domestic and global policies.

CA Planned Parenthood Joins Pro-Choice Clergy to Launch ‘40 Days of Prayer’ In Support of Murder

The Six Rivers Planned Parenthood of Eureka, California, has a new prayer campaign that may cause some head-scratching among religious individuals who stand opposed to abortion.

The initiative, “40 Days of Prayer: Supporting Women Everywhere,” provides 40 different prayers that can be offered up in support of abortion rights.

The conservative Liberty Council, a legal and education non-profit, claims that the prayers include consideration for “the mothers, the escorts, the abortionists,” but that there are no mentions of the unborn children. The campaign is being supported by a group called Clergy for Choice, which describes itself as follows:

We are religious leaders who value all human life. We accept that religions differ about when life begins. We are here to help.

We believe that human life is holy. That’s why we believe in your right to choose to be a parent or not.

In a brochure published on the Six Rivers Planned Parenthood web site, some extremely controversial prayers are touted. On Day 4, the clergy encourage people to give thanks “for the doctors who provide quality abortion care” and on Day 5, they encourage prayer “for medical students who want to include abortion care in their practice.”

Portland State University Offering ‘Revolutionary Marxism’ Course

Portland State University is offering a number of controversial courses this semester, the likes of which include “Revolutionary Marxism: Theory and Practice,“ and ”Art Within Activism” (though students are also welcome to take “Exploring Buffy the Vampire Slayer”).

The “Revolutionary Marxism” course is introduced in what appears to be the syllabus:

The onset of the Arab Spring, revolts in European capitals against austerity, and the emergence of Occupy Wall Street here in the US have made the need for understanding revolutionary political theories [more] urgent than ever.

This course is designed to introduce students to the basic concepts of Marxist thought with an emphasis on the practical applications of Marxist Theory in local political struggle. We will focus on four major areas throughout the semester, including the Fundamentals of Marxist Theory, Marxism and Oppression, Revolutionary Practice, and The Future of Socialism. In exploring these four areas of focus, the course will compare and contrast revolutionary Marxism to Stalinism, reformist socialism, leading academic interpretations of Marxism, as well as other radical leftist ideologies.
