MoveOn Pushed Racism in Swing States

As preparations begin for the trial of neighborhood watch captain George Zimmerman, MoveOn.org is ready to stir racial tensions on behalf of another victim in a different swing state.

The liberal advocacy group on Saturday morning sent out a petition and plea for donations to its members, urging “Justice for Jasmine,” a black North Carolina teen apparently shot accidentally by a white man last year.

In a letter to MoveOn.org members, Treka McMillian, Jasmine Thar’s godmother, alleged that Thar’s shooter, a “23-year-old Caucasian male,” was never brought to justice for the death of the “16-year-old African American” because investigators simply did not care.

“The 23-year-old Caucasian male who fired the fatal shot from the house across the street was taken in for questioning, but he has not been charged with a crime of any kind,” she wrote to members, claiming the man also had a Confederate flag and Nazi literature in his house.

“The message being sent is that you can shoot and kill someone like Jasmine and get away with it by simply claiming it was an accident,” she wrote. “That can’t be the world we live in.”

According to The Charlotte Observer, the bullet came from inside the home of James Anthony Blackwell, who told police his Remington Model 700 fired without him touching the trigger. The Remington Model 700 has been the subject of more than 75 lawsuits, which have alleged the model is subject to discharge without the trigger being pulled.

The Observer also reported that a witness saw Blackwell run from his bungalow shouting “No! No! No!” as he fell to his knees at the time of the shooting.

The USA Today reported in 2010 that the Remington Arms Company has twice considered recalling the rifle due to the firing flaw, which has been linked to at least 24 deaths and over 100 injuries.

Remington contends that the rifle is “safe, trusted and reliable.”

The Chadbourn, NC police department brought Blackwell in for questioning but did not arrest him.

Thar’s mother on Friday held a press conference in uptown Charlotte, N.C. (the site of the 2012 Democratic National Convention) with community activists to urge prosecutors to take action against Blackwell, saying she believes the shooting was racially motivated, The Charlotte Observer reported.

The conference did not shy away from comparisons to the Trayvon Martin case in Sanford, Fla.

“It’s like déjà vu,” activist John Barnett said at the press conference, comparing the Thar investigation to the Martin case. “It’s happening all over again.”

Climate Alarmist Calls For Burning Down Skeptics’ Homes

Writing for Forbes Magazine, climate change alarmist Steve Zwick calls for skeptics of man-made global warming to be tracked, hunted down and have their homes burned to the ground, yet another shocking illustration of how eco-fascism is rife within the environmentalist lobby.

Comparing climate change skeptics to residents in Tennessee who refused to pay a $75 fee, resulting in firemen sitting back and watching their houses burn down, Zwick rants that anyone who actively questions global warming propaganda should face the same treatment.

“We know who the active denialists are – not the people who buy the lies, mind you, but the people who create the lies. Let’s start keeping track of them now, and when the famines come, let’s make them pay. Let’s let their houses burn. Let’s swap their safe land for submerged islands. Let’s force them to bear the cost of rising food prices,” writes Zwick, adding, “They broke the climate. Why should the rest of us have to pay for it?”

As we have profusely documented, as polls show that fewer and fewer Americans are convinced by the pseudo-science behind man-made global warming, promulgated as it is by control freaks like Zwick who care more about money and power than they do the environment, AGW adherents are becoming increasingly authoritarian in their pronouncements.

Even as the science itself disproves their theories – Arctic ice is thickening, polar bears and penguins are thriving, Himalayan glaciers are growing – climate change alarmists are only becoming more aggressive in their attacks against anyone who dares question the global warming mantra.

Earlier month we highlighted Professor Kari Norgaard’s call for climate skeptics to be likened to racists and ‘treated’ for having a mental disorder. In a letter to Barack Obama, Norgaard also called on the President to ignore the will of the people and suspend democracy in order to enforce draconian ecological mandates.

But that’s by no means represents the extreme edge of eco-fascist sentiment that has been expressed in recent years.

In 2010, UK government-backed global warming alarmist group 10:10 produced an infomercial in which children who refused to lower their carbon emissions were slaughtered in an orgy of blood and guts. After a massive backlash, the organization was forced to remove the video from their website and issue an apology.

Muir Boda For Congress

Welcome and thank you for visiting our Campaign website.

A long shot, yes. However, our purpose for standing up and running for congress is quite simple: The message of Individual Liberty and Freedom and restoring our Nation’s Honor must be a viable choice for voters. We offer that.

We don’t anticipate raising hundreds of thousands of dollars and having entrenched political machines robo-calling and printing out wasteful mailers to voters which represent half truths and empty promises. We actually believe that is part of the problem with modern politics in America.

Many people are still looking to Washington and the two major political parties to solve all of our problems, actually problems they have created. They have nearly bankrupt our national wealth by devaluing our currency, spending astronomical amounts of money on wars, nation building and a myriad wasteful programs through a budget process that is broken. All of this set up on on a tax and regulatory system that is oppressive and has destroyed job creation in our country by forcing businesses overseas.

We can continue to elect people from the two major parties who disregard our Constitution by creating laws and giving our government powers not authorized by the Constitution. We can continue trusting the the same group of people to fix our issues of debt and oppression that created the problems. We can continue electing people who have allowed money and special interest to control their decisions and attack good people all for political expediency.

We can continue down this path and our country will continue in the direction that it is currently on which will lead to an economic collapse that will make the great depression look like a drop in the bucket.

Or we can truly change direction and elect people who respect the constitution and believe that decentralizing the power of Washington is of utmost importance. Individual Liberty and Personal Freedom must be a priority. Eliminating oppressive tax codes, laws and regulation to bring back an economic boom unlike any this country has seen.

We stand at a pivotal moment in our Nation’s history and the choice of electing the Establishment candidates seems like a safe choice. However, the Establishment politicians have brought us to this moment. I can assure you, we are not the Establishment candidate and our goal is to dismantle the monstrosity that the Establishment has created.

Dept. of Justice Referred Him to Media Matters Over Fast & Furious Inquiry

A reporter for the Washington Free Beacon said Friday the Department of Justice referred him to the left-leaning Media Matters in response to an inquiry about the Operation Fast and Furious scandal.

CJ Ciaramella was inquiring about claims in a new book by conservative commentator Katie Pavlich suggesting an FBI cover-up of a weapon found at the scene of U.S. Border Patrol agent Brian Terry’s death.

The email Ciaramella said he received in reply from a Department of Justice spokeswoman stated she “was told to direct your questions to the FBI, and also to provide you with a link to this story: http://mediamatters.org/research/201204190011.”
