Palestinian Activists Storm Supermarket that Serves Both Jews & Arabs, Call for Settlement Boycott

While more than 70 rockets fired by Palestinian militants in Gaza hit southern Israel on Wednesday, in the West Bank (known also as Judea and Samaria), Palestinian activists and their foreign supporters stormed an Israeli-owned supermarket that prides itself in providing jobs and affordable groceries to both Jews and Arabs.

Israeli and Palestinian media report that some 100 Palestinians, along with international activists from the International Solidarity Movement, staged the protest at the Rami Levy supermarket in Sha’ar Binyamin, near Ramallah. Some entered the store where they walked up and down the aisles, waved Palestinian flags, chanted slogans and called for a boycott of settlement goods, while others blocked the entrance. Israeli border police dispersed the crowd outside using stun grenades.

Arutz Sheva reports customers and workers took refuge in the store as they feared the protesters would become violent.

Abir Kopty, a political and feminist activist with the Palestinian popular committees tells Ynet that this protest is part of a series being planned. The first one occurred last week when Palestinians blocked Israeli highway 443 during rush hour. She said:

UPDATE: Incarceration of EDL and British Freedom members

Here’s the latest on the situation regarding Tommy Robinson, Kevin Carroll and Paul Weston. With increasing frequency, the UK authorities are trying to silence patriot-activists on charges of “conspiring to cause a public nuisance.”

British Freedom Tommy Robinson has been denied bail and is locked up on the main wing of Wandsworth prison in London. He is in close proximity to Muslim prisoners, who are shouting various threats against him. As long as he is separated from them he should be safe, but if he should be attacked the Governor of Wandsworth Prison will be held accountable.
Kevin Carroll has been released. His home was broken into and searched, his work van impounded and searched by Special Branch. This appears to be a politically orientated attack on Mr Carroll with the intention clearly being to discredit him before the Police and Crime Commissioner election on 15thNovember.
Paul Weston was threatened with arrest for refusing to leave Wormwood Scrubs reception area without information about the whereabouts and safety of Tommy Robinson. Paul was briefly detained before being released. There is no charge against him.
The full power of the State appears to be concentrating on shutting down any political dissent. This does not really feel like a democratic country anymore. We will update this site as and when we get further information.

Full Moon Already …? Thom Hartmann Suggests Benghazi Attack Part of Right-Wing Plot

Looks like we have a new leader on the left for proponent of this year’s most delusional conspiracy theory.

Libtalker Thom Hartmann on his radio show yesterday went somewhere you’d otherwise expect to find Occupy squatters reeling from bong hits and railing against the man.

HARTMANN: Call me a conspiracy nut but first came the memo saying that, oh it was leaked actually out of the Romney campaign, that they were going to turn Barack Obama into Jimmy Carter. Now what did that mean? Who was planning that? Who, you know, and then comes out this anti-Muhammad movie, just before 9/11, just in time for 9/11. And then the attacks, you know, in Benghazi in, on 9/11. And then Darrell Issa, you know, who’s got a history as a small-time crook, is trying to politicize this thing. It makes you wonder who funded the movie.

OK — you’re a conspiracy nut.

We Are Angry And Outraged!

We’re not angry, we’re very disappointed…

The recent arrest of EDL Leader Tommy Robinson really stinks.

It stinks because it has so obviously come about as a result of political pressure.

It stinks because he is currently being held alongside numerous Muslim inmates who have already made it clear that they don’t exactly wish him well.

And it stinks because it is all part of a long-fought campaign to silence both Tommy and the EDL.

Tommy has been dragged from one court to another – almost always without any serious chance of conviction – simply in order to help disrupt our activities and to prevent us from voicing our legitimate concerns about the spread of Islamic extremism.

In one sense it works, because it means we have to spend a lot of time and money on legal appeals, when we would much rather spend it on serious campaigning and on organising demonstrations.

But at the same time it does bring a lot of attention to our cause. The treatment of Tommy by the authorities demonstrates how political power can be abused and how freedom of speech can be suppressed. It demonstrates how a two tier system can operate and how important principles like equality under the law can be forgotten.

The danger, however, is that people focus too much on these particular abuses, and forget about the message, about what we actually stand for.

This is encouraged by our opponents – by Islamists, the far Left, and others who care more about demonising people than they do having a fair and open debate.

They call us names – ‘racists’, ‘fascists’, ‘Islamophobes’ – none of which actually describe what we believe or what we stand for, but which are hard to dispel.

Their job is made far easier whenever we do not show a united front. That’s why it’s important that we continue to stand strong and remind people what we stand for.

We’re not fighting for a society that discriminates based on race, religion, or anything else. We are simply fighting to safeguard the rights and freedoms that we believe are in danger.

We’re not like the BNP, never have been like the BNP, and never will be like the BNP.

In fact, we are one of the most important forces in the battle against far Right extremism.

We are opposed to the far Right, the far Left and Islamic extremists. But let’s not pretend that Islamic extremism isn’t by far the most dangerous threat we face.

We’ve received numerous threats from extremists on both the far Right and the far Left, but both groups remain on the fringes of society, unable to cause anyone too much serious concern.

The same is not true of Islamic extremists. It was not the far Right that were caught attempting to transport a bomb to our Dewsbury demonstration, and is not the far Left that we read about committing terrorist atrocities every single week.

The sad fact is that British Muslims should be our most important allies in the battle against Islamic extremism, but too often they either are unwilling or unable to make any meaningful efforts to reform their community.

Reform is needed because Islam keeps producing all manner of different types of extremist: from terrorists and terrorist financiers, to grooming gangs and Islamist hate preachers. But how many people can name a single Muslim organisation dedicated to reform?

Only the Ahmadiyya (a small Muslim sect) can be counted on to fully reject extremism.

When someone draws a cartoon or makes a film that Muslims do not like there are violent protests. And our government and media respond not by defending freedom of speech, but by considering whether it should be limited. They criticise not the angry mob, nor those pushing for censorship, but the cartoonist or filmmaker that ‘provoked’ such a response.

Christian Students Sue After Snow College Allegedly Bans Religious Homecoming Art & Downgrades Club’s Status

Throughout 2012, the War on Religion has made its way to America’s college campuses. Almost daily, it seems there are new stories emerging about religious freedom at universities across the nation. On Tuesday, TheBlaze reported on the Tufts University crackdown on a Christian club that requires its leaders to be believers. Similarly, Snow College in Ephraim, Utah, is making headlines after allegedly banning Christian students’ religious homecoming art and downgrading a faith club’s status.

According to the students, who have filed a lawsuit with help from the Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) over the matter, they were told by school officials that their signs were done “in poor taste.” The basis for such a notion was the fact that they included faith-based messaging and symbolism. FOX News’ Todd Starnes reports:

Alliance Defending Freedom said campus clubs were invited to “Paint the Town,” — decorating the windows of local businesses with the theme: “Then, Now and Forever.”

The Solid Rock club had received permission to paint two windows — one of a privately owned business and the other was a business selected by the school.

The group had already painted one window with a cross and the words: “The cross covers sin then, now and forever.” They were working on a second window when a college official ordered them to stop.

Barham said the students were scolded, threatened and then forced to wash away their display [The Salt Lake Tribune claims it was other students who washed it away, despite the Christian students having the shop owner’s approval].

‘Treason’ and Possible ‘Prison’

Glenn Beck took to his radio show Wednesday morning for a fiery denouncement of the administration’s handling of the crisis in Libya.

“This president is lying to you about Benghazi in such [a] spectacular fashion that I believe people will go to prison. This is impeachable. The president might go to prison for this one,” he said. “What’s happening in Benghazi is so far beyond lying, it is staggering.”

While politicians are known for twisting words into half truths, Beck added that has never seen an administration persist in such a boldfaced lie when American lives are at stake, or seen a media so content to let it slide.

He continued, going over the newly-released documents that prove the administration was alerted to what was really happening in Libya before spinning a story about a YouTube video:

Now we have [the] beginning of the truth on Benghazi. Five days into the Benghazi scandal, when no one was saying anything, I presented a theory…I told you that [Ambassador Stevens] was involved in running guns, and he was running guns to al-Qaeda in Libya, and he was running guns through Turkey into Syria. And whether it was a deal that went bad, I don’t know, but that’s what happened. And the White House knew…And while everyone else was arguing about whether it was a videotape or not, we were furthering the story.

Today we have evidence that is staggering. We now have a memo posted [at] TheBlaze…to the White House two hours after the attacks began. Last night on the TV show I laid it out again…exactly what happened, when. At 1:00, or 12:54 in the afternoon on September 11, the White House was warned that somebody was watching the Benghazi safe house– and so you know, do not let any member of the press get away with calling this an embassy safe house. It is not. It was a CIA safe house. Now why, in the most dangerous place in one of the most dangerous parts of the world, on Sept. 11…why would he be at a CIA safe house? …We now know he was having dinner with the general counsel of Turkey.

Hillary Clinton: ‘We Are Holding Ourselves Accountable to the American People’

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton — who repeatedly suggested that an obscure anti-Muslim video prompted the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi — on Wednesday was confronted with new reports that the Obama administration knew within two hours that the attack was launched by the terrorist group Ansar al-Sharia.

Clinton told reporters on Wednesday that the claim of responsibility — noted by State Department officials within hours — had been posted on Facebook, and “is not in and of itself evidence.”

She also said the reporting in the hours after the attack “was fluid” for some time:

“Now, finally, on Benghazi — Look, I’ve said it and I’ll say it one more time. No one wants to find out what happened more than I do. We are holding ourselves accountable to the American people, because not only they but our great diplomats and development experts serving in dangerous places around the world deserve no less. The Independent Accountability Review Board is already hard at work looking at everything — not cherry picking, you know, one story here one document there, but looking at everything, which I highly recommend — as the appropriate approach to something as complex as, ah, as an attack like this.
