CONGRESS TO INVESTIGATE INACCURATE BENGHAZI TALKING POINTS: ‘THIS WHOLE PROCESS IS GOING TO BE CHECKED OUT’

Lawmakers said Sunday they want to know who had a hand in creating the Obama administration’s now-discredited “talking points” about the Sept. 11 attack on a U.S. diplomatic post in Benghazi, Libya, and why a final draft omitted the CIA’s early conclusion that terrorists were involved.

The answers could explain why President Barack Obama and his top aides, including U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice, described the attack for roughly two weeks afterward as a protest against an anti-Islam video that spontaneously turned violent, and why they played down any potential link to al-Qaeda despite ample evidence to the contrary.

SUSAN RICE ‘WILL HAVE TO TESTIFY’ ABOUT BENGHAZI

With Susan Rice’s name being floated as a potential replacement for Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, the U.N. Ambassador is back in the news with a vengeance. Her controversial initial comments about the attacks in Benghazi, Libya are seen as a major impediment to her prospects, with Republicans in Congress still screaming bloody murder over the level of falsehood involved in those comments.

Moreover, many appear to be chomping at the bit waiting for potential confirmation hearings as a rare opportunity to break through the firewall surrounding White House aides involved in the response to Benghazi. To that end, Sen. Saxby Chambliss (R-Ga.) said on “Fox News Sunday” that he believes Rice will have to testify about Benghazi at some point, possibly just as a form of damage control for her own prospects.

“She’s going to have to come in and testify at some point, whether it’s in a closed hearing or an open hearing,” Chambliss said. He also said he’d attempt to get Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) to schedule a hearing for this purpose.

IT SEEMS THE DEAD BOY USED AS SYMBOL OF ISRAELI ‘AGGRESSION’ WAS KILLED BY…HAMAS (WARNING — GRAPHIC PHOTO)

Egypt’s Prime Minister Hisham Kandil cried on Friday and kissed the dead child’s forehead, calling him a “martyr.” CNN called him “another victim of an [Israeli] airstrike.” Newspapers showed his photo as an example of the Palestinian civilians killed by Israel’s ongoing military campaign against militants in Gaza.

The only problem with that narrative is that 4-year-old Mahmoud Sadallah was killed by a Hamas rocket that fell short in Gaza instead of its intended target: Israel. According to an Israeli military statement Sunday, “Ninety-nine rockets fired from Gaza have crashed back into Gaza in the last four days. Hamas fires from civilian areas…and hits its own people.”

Pro-Israel blogger Elder of Ziyon reviewed media reports on the incident and wrote: “The IDF did not launch any airstrikes in Gaza while Egyptian PM Kandil was in Gaza.” Israel had agreed to a temporary ceasefire while Kandil was visiting Gaza on Friday, as a gesture to Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi. Even so, terror groups continued firing on Israel during the diplomatic visit.

Elder of Ziyon pointed out that the Associated Press reported from Gaza that not only where there no eyewitnesses to the strike, no evidence remained onsite for examination. The blog said: “Israel vehemently denied involvement, saying it had not carried out any attacks in the area at the time” and that “…neighbors said local security officials quickly took what remained of the projectile, making it impossible to verify who fired it.”

OBAMA: ‘WE ARE FULLY SUPPORTIVE OF ISRAEL’S RIGHT TO DEFEND ITSELF’ BUT WARNS AGAINST ‘RAMPING UP’

President Barack Obama on Sunday reaffirmed Israel’s right to defend itself and said any “serious” Middle East peace effort “starts with no more missiles being fired” into Israel.

“There’s no country on Earth that would tolerate missiles raining down on its citizens from outside its borders,” Obama said during a news conference in Bangkok, his first public remarks about the latest round of violence. “We are fully supportive of Israel’s right to defend itself from missiles landing on people’s homes.”

But Obama also said he hoped Israel’s objectives could be accomplished without a “ramping up of military activity in Gaza.”

“It’s not just preferable for the people of Gaza. It’s also preferable for Israelis, because if Israeli troops are in Gaza, they’re much more at risk of incurring fatalities or being wounded,” Obama said.

Sunday marked the fifth day of heightened conflict between Israel and Hamas militants in Gaza. World leaders are said to be working on crafting a ceasefire, but Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has indicated his country is prepared for a possible ground invasion if the rocket attacks don’t stop.

Young drivers could be banned from carrying non-family passengers

Young drivers face a ban on carrying anyone other than family members as passengers under proposals being considered by the Government to cut the number of road accidents involving teenagers.

Other options include banning novice drivers from carrying passengers altogether.

In an interview with The Daily Telegraph, Mr McLoughlin said he was ready to look at measures which could reduce the the number of accidents involving novice motorists and cut the cost of providing them insurance cover.

According to the Association of British Insurers, which submitted the proposals to the Department for Transport, one in eight drivers is under 25, but they account for one third of the number of people who die on the country’s roads.

It estimates that an 18-year old driver is three times more likely to be involved in a crash than a motorist 30 years older. In 2011, drivers between 17 and 19 were involved in 12,000 crashes of which more than half resulted in serious or fatal injuries.

“I read regular reports where three or four young people have been killed in a car and it’s a new driver and you wonder what happened,” Mr McLoughlin said.

SWEDEN: Muslim savages brutally beat 87-year-old woman trying to stop them from abusing a puppy

The 87-year-old confronted a (Muslim) immigrant gang of five that was assaulting a helpless puppy outside a grocery store. The gang then turned their attention to her, beating her to the ground, where they brutally kicked and punched her until she started bleeding from her private parts.

hd.se (h/T Maritha B) The sadistic attack is now sending chock-waves through the once-idyllic small town of Helsingborg, southern Sweden.
The woman, who was discovered in her home several days after the attack with heavy bleedings from her genitals, says in an interview with Swedish Radio that she ‘couldn’t help but ask them to stop – maybe it was stupid of me but I just couldn’t stand watching them torture a small animal’.

RUPERT MURDOCH UNDER FIRE FOR MIDEAST TWEET: ‘CAN’T OBAMA STOP HIS FRIENDS IN EGYPT SHELLING ISRAEL?’

Media mogul Rupert Murdoch is under fire for weighing in on the violence cascading throughout the Middle East on his Twitter account, where he implied that President Obama should have more influence with the Egyptians he helped put into power.

“Can’t Obama stop his friends in Egypt shelling Israel?” the New Corp. chief wrote from his verified Twitter account.

Israel has been under attack from all sides for the past four days, facing hundreds of rockets from Gaza, skirmishes on the Syrian border, and now rockets from extremists in Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula as well.
