150 Years Ago Today……….Republicans Freed the Slaves

Republicans rejoiced. Democrats cursed.

Grand Old Partisan reported:

On New Year’s Day in 1863, the Republican Party’s Emancipation Proclamation came into effect. While Republicans rejoiced, Democrat politicians and newspapers denounced President Abraham Lincoln (R-IL) for freeing slaves. Demonstrating their depravity, New York’s Gov. Horatio Seymour, who would be the 1868 Democrat presidential nominee, denounced the Emancipation Proclamation as “a proposal for the butchery of women and children.” The Louisville Daily Democrat called it “an outrage of all constitutional law, all human justice, all Christian feeling.”

Senate-Passed Deal Means Higher Tax on 77% of Households

The budget deal passed by the U.S. Senate today would raise taxes on 77.1 percent of U.S. households, mostly because of the expiration of a payroll tax cut, according to preliminary estimates from the nonpartisan Tax Policy Center in Washington.

More than 80 percent of households with incomes between $50,000 and $200,000 would pay higher taxes. Among the households facing higher taxes, the average increase would be $1,635, the policy center said. A 2 percent payroll tax cut, enacted during the economic slowdown, is being allowed to expire as of yesterday.

The heaviest new burdens in 2013, compared with 2012, would fall on top earners, who would face higher rates on income, capital gains, dividends and estates. The top 1 percent of taxpayers, or those with incomes over $506,210, would pay an average of $73,633 more in taxes.

Much of that burden is concentrated at the very top of the income scale.

The top 0.1 percent of taxpayers, those with incomes over about $2.7 million, would pay an average of $443,910 more, reducing their after-tax incomes by 8.4 percent. They would pay 26 percent of the additional taxes imposed by the legislation.

Among households with incomes between $500,000 and $1 million, taxes would go up by an average of $14,812.

8 deadly agents ‘to bring U.S. to its knees’

Iranian scientists, working under orders from the radicals running the Islamic regime, have genetically altered microbial agents in a nightmarish scheme to bring the West to its knees.

According to a source in the Revolutionary Guards intelligence unit with knowledge of Iran’s microbial research and development, the scientists, with Russian and North Korean help, currently possess eight extremely dangerous microbial agents that, if unleashed, could kill millions of people.

As reported exclusively on WND on Dec. 16, the source revealed the existence of a plant in Marzanabad, Iran, where 12 Russian and 28 Iranian scientists are working on microbial agents for bombs. At that time, the source disclosed that Iran was working on 18 agents, with four completed. He has now provided information that with work at two other plants, Iran has created a total of eight microbial agents, with research on insects to be used as the vector to infect the societies of its enemies.

Deficit ‘fiscal cliff’ bill actually spends $330 billion more

The “fiscal cliff” deal that was designed to save money actually includes $330.3 billion in new spending over the next decade, according to the official estimate the Congressional Budget Office released Tuesday afternoon.

CBO said the bill contains about $25.1 billion in new cuts, but those are swamped by the new spending on extended unemployment benefits for the long-term jobless and other new refundable tax credits that President Obama fought for.

Of those cuts, only $2 billion are scheduled to take effect in 2013.

And CBO also warned that some of the cuts Congress is counting are from programs on which CBO never expected the money to be spent anyway — such as cuts to the Consumer Operated and Oriented Plan, which was part of Mr. Obama’s health care law.

All told, the bill deepens the deficit by nearly $4 trillion over the next decade, when the new tax cuts and spending are combined.

Retired Columnist Wants to Kill NRA Members, Drag GOP Leaders Behind Trucks

Cantankerous liberal columnist Donald Kaul retired earlier this year. But the Newtown school shooting brought out all his ugliness. He proposed a new liberal agenda: repeal the Second Amendment, declare the NRA a terrorist organization and make membership illegal, and well, make violent threats to Republican leaders and NRA members. The Des Moines Register published this junk.

“I would tie Mitch McConnell and John Boehner, our esteemed Republican leaders, to the back of a Chevy pickup truck and drag them around a parking lot until they saw the light on gun control,” he wrote. Is that a threatening James Byrd reference? “And if that didn’t work, I’d adopt radical measures.” This was how he spelled out the other agenda items, which included killing NRA members who wouldn’t surrender their arms:

Here, then, is my “madder-than-hell-and-I’m-not-going-to-take-it-anymore” program for ending gun violence in America:

Stunner. Obama Supporters Cheer as He Talks About Hiking Taxes on Wealthy Americans

Rand Paul accuses Democrats of raising taxes just to ‘stick it to those rich people’

In a passionate Monday speech on the Senate floor, Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul railed against the notion of raising taxes on the wealthy, and expressed doubts that doing so in a “fiscal cliff” deal would actually help pay off the debt at all.

“You may not get any more revenue,” the Kentucky Republican said. “You may not get any more economic growth. But you can say, ‘I stuck it to the rich people.’”

In his floor speech, Paul suggested Democrats are insisting on raising taxes on the wealthy because they “campaigned against rich people” in 2012 and “got enough envy whipped up in the country.”

‘Vulgar’: Kathy Griffin Kisses Anderson Cooper’s Crotch During Live NYE Show

Comedian Kathy Griffin is known for spawning both hilarity and controversy. During CNN’s live New Year’s Eve show, there was no shortage of the latter. In a move that some have called “vulgar,” Griffin made sexual jokes directed at co-host Anderson Cooper and then proceeded to kiss his crotch after midnight.

Griffin first raised eyebrows during the show by telling Cooper, “I’m going to tickle your sack.” Then, as the CNN host attempted to sway the conversation away from controversy, the back-and-forth intensified. Newsbusters recaps the dialogue:

An obviously nervous Cooper responded, “I don’t know what you’re talking about. I have no sack of gifts here.”

Griffin then suggested the camera pan lower so the audience can see her “naughty gestures.”

When Cooper continued to try and clean it up by referring to a sack of Christmas presents, Griffin asked, “You’re calling your privates your Christmas presents?”

When Cooper said, “No,” Griffin said, “That’s typical hot guy. ‘Let’s open up the Christmas presents.’”

Fiscal Cliff Deal: $1 in Spending Cuts for Every $41 in Tax Increases

According to the Congressional Budget Office, the last-minute fiscal cliff deal reached by congressional leaders and President Barack Obama cuts only $15 billion in spending while increasing tax revenues by $620 billion—a 41:1 ratio of tax increases to spending cuts.

When Presidents Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush increased taxes in return for spending cuts—cuts that never ultimately came—they did so at ratios of 1:3 and 1:2.

“In 1982, President Reagan was promised $3 in spending cuts for every $1 in tax hikes,” Americans for Tax Reform says of those two incidents. “The tax hikes went through, but the spending cuts did not materialize. President Reagan later said that signing onto this deal was the biggest mistake of his presidency.

“In 1990, President George H.W. Bush agreed to $2 in spending cuts for every $1 in tax hikes. The tax hikes went through, and we are still paying them today. Not a single penny of the promised spending cuts actually happened.”

Ban making love to younger women

If the Obama administration is going after guns, it should also ban marriage as well as old men “making love” to young women, jested stand up comic Jackie Mason in a radio interview.

“Another thing you should ban is ban marriage,” said Mason, commenting on WABC Radio’s “Aaron Klein Investigative Radio” Sunday night regarding proposed gun legislation

“More people are killed because of love affairs. Because if somebody cheated in a marriage, then they are more likely to be killed than anybody in any other circumstance. You should even ban conversations.”

Continued the comic: “You should certainly stop young women from making love to old men. Every time an 18-year-old girl makes love to a 60-year-old man, how long do you think he’s got to live?”

Mason pointed to statistics that he said show more people are killed by knives than guns.
