…This new bill, HR 347, was pushed through Congress in such a way that it allowed for little discussion or debate and objection from either side. In fact, most members were probably already gone for the holiday recess. At any rate, HR 347 was signed by Obama and is now law. This may signify at least the beginning of the end for Americans being able to legally express themselves and their opinion freely under the 1^st Amendment. This law will now allow the Secret Service to arrest anyone that is publicly protesting within their vicinity.

The Secret Service will now be able to dictate public demonstrations and how they are to be run. This also includes anyone under Secret Service protection to be able to dictate demonstrations. Anyone who is found to be in violation of this law to be arrested and charged with a felony…

 The Federal and State governments are in the business of identifying things which are not good for an individual and implementing taxes as a means, so they say, to dissuade people from engaging in the activities it deems unsafe.

  Smoking is easily the best example of this mindset, as is the recent push by many in the government to tax sugary drinks, limit sodium in products, regulate trans fats, and of course taxing gasoline and coercing people into driving more fuel efficient vehicles.

  This post is not meant to diminish the negative effects of any of these products because we all know that smoking and consuming too much sugar or salt is not good for you, but rather to highlight the real goal of the government when it decides to tax us for our own good.

Gee, ya think? Prior to becoming president Obama never ran a company or governed a state. He never ran anything. Of course campaigning is all he knows how to do.

Listen to any Obama speech from the last 5 years. He always tries to position himself as a Washington outsider with no responsibility for what’s happening in America today.

His presidency has been a never ending campaign and when he’s not railing against his political enemies, he’s fundraising for Democrats.

One could easily argue that he has only campaigned and never governed. CNN reporter Peter Hamby’s claim in the video below isn’t a huge stretch.

A Federal Judge rules Chicago’s handgun sales ban is unconstitutional

  Earlier today U.S. District Court Judge Edmond Chang, a Barack Obama appointee nonetheless, ruled that Chicago’s handgun sales ban is unconstitutional:

U.S. District Court Judge Edmond E. Chang wrote in a 35-page opinion that “Chicago’s ordinance goes too far in outright banning legal buyers and legal dealers from engaging in lawful acquisitions and lawful sales of firearms . . .”

The plaintiffs in the lawsuit — a combination of Chicago residents and an association of Illinois firearms retailers — argued that if they have the right to have a handgun within city limits — as courts have ruled — then they have a right to buy one within the city.

That argument carried the day with the judge.

  Chalk one up for the law adding gun owners in Chicago but the decision was not a complete victory for the judge stayed his opinion pending appeal and left the door…

MSNBC Assigns Executive to Review Scripts Before They Go On Air

MSNBC, which has been reeling from recent statements made by its hosts, has apparently decided that the network can’t risk any more embarrassing incidents. To that end, they are putting an executive in charge of reviewing scripts before they air, according to Eliana Johnson in National Review Online:

It now has an executive reviewing scripts before they go on the air. The role, which has fallen to Rich Stockwell, a former executive producer of The Ed Show and Countdown with Keith Olbermann, who now oversees special projects at the network, was created as several of the network’s hosts have, to the embarrassment of network brass, conducted a master class in political incorrectness […]
