Yesterday “TheBlaze” published an interview with Romanian Lt. Gen Ion Pacepa, a discussion which arose around the publishing of his work, “Disinformation: Former Spy Chief Reveals Secret Strategies for Undermining Freedom, Attacking Religion, and Promoting Terrorism.”
Pacepa is a defector to the United States, but not just any run-of-the-mill defector. He is the highest-ranking Soviet intelligence officer to ever defect. He crossed over back in 1978 and was given political asylum by then President Jimmy Carter.
He has made a practice since that time to write in defense of freedom while living his life under threat of assassination, hiding out undercover.

In the Ukraine, Obama invested $5 Billion dollars of U.S. Taxpayer money to overthrow the government after now-deposed President Viktor Yanukovych rejected the European Union and instead established closer ties with Russia.
Given the destruction the European Union, the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank and the West in general have wrought in Greece, Cyprus and throughout Eastern Europe, with outside investors earning billions in profits, that decision was perfectly reasonable. Needless to say, the West’s business class was not pleased so Yanukovych had to go.

New Jersey has become ground zero this year for legislative battles over gun control.
The Brady Campaign ranked the state third in the nation for most restrictive firearms laws, yet anti-gun Democrats who control the legislature are determined to go all the way to gun bans and confiscation.
The New Jersey Assembly’s Law and Public Safety Committee was scheduled to hold a public hearing on Monday (postponed for snow) about a bill that reduces the maximum magazine capacity from 15 to 10.
Since the legislation covers both detachable and fixed magazines, it has the effect of to banning popular, low-caliber rifles.
The Association of New Jersey Rifle and Pistol Clubs gave the draft legislation to top firearms experts in the country to determine what guns would fall under the expanded ban.
They discovered that the bill would affect tube-fed, semi-automatic rifles because the magazine cannot be separated from the gun.

In the Comments section to a very perceptive post by Stacy McCain on what he calls Obama’s Part-Time Proletariat, Adjoran and RS lay bare the foul corruptions behind the frequent calls to raise the Minimum Wage in the name of ‘fairness’ and ‘Social Justice.
Virtually NONE of the people Democrats claim to want to “help” would actually benefit from an increase in the minimum wage. That’s because almost nobody stays at minimum very long. Even burger flippers who are barely adequate get a small raise when they pass their probationary period, and regular, if small, increments from there.
In almost any field that starts out at minimum wage, if you aren’t making more than that in six months it’s because you are so woefully incompetent you probably will be fired during the probationary period.
