School now sued for ‘police-state mindset’

A federal judge has cleared the path for two victims of a school’s “zero tolerance” program to sue officials over alleged violations of their constitutional rights.

The ruling comes from U.S. District Court Judge George L. Russell III, who turned back a request from the Board of Education in Talbot County, Maryland, to dismiss the case.

A Massachusetts woman who tried to record her arrest on her smartphone got another charge added to her rap sheet: wiretapping.

Springfield Police officers were on a routine patrol when they responded to a disturbance call and when the officers got on scene to investigate they found Karen Dziewit, and two other individuals, in the middle of the street causing a bit of a ruckus.

Boehner loses his spine: Rules Out Using Congressional Powers To Arrest Lois Lerner For Contempt

Republican Speaker of the House John Boehner refused to consider using the House’s constitutional authority to arrest disgraced IRS official Lois Lerner for being in contempt of Congress, noting it’s never been used before and should be left to Attorney General Eric Holder.

On Sunday, Boehner spoke with Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo about next steps in the investigation into the alleged targeting of conservative nonprofit groups by the IRS. As head of the tax revenue service’s nonprofit division at the time, Lerner has repeatedly refused to testify before lawmakers — leading to last Wednesday’s vote holding her in contempt of Congress.

“The contempt charge has gone to the attorney general,” Boehner explained, “and it’s up to the attorney general, Eric Holder, to prosecute this, and to assign someone to prosecute the case. Now, will he do it? We don’t know. But the ball is in his court.”

Eleanor Clift, noted liberal columnist and pundit from the Daily Beast, insisted during a broadcast discussion of Benghazi on “The McLaughlin Group” that U.S. Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens wasn’t really murdered.

He actually died from “smoke inhalation,” she said, Mediaite reported.

Her exact words: “I’d like to point out that Ambassador Stevens was not ‘murdered,’ ” she said, bending her fingers in the air to suggest the drawing of quote marks, “but died of smoke inhalation in a CIA safe room.”

Fellow panelists were quick to point out the nature of his death stemmed from a terrorist attack.
