FBI investigating threats against Bergdahl family

Bergdahl_thumb_12733.jpgThreats against the family of former Taliban prisoner Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl are being investigated by federal, state and local authorities.

William Facer, a spokesman for the FBI’s Salt Lake City division, said Saturday in a statement: “The FBI continues to monitor the situation in Hailey, Idaho. We are working jointly with our state and local partners and taking each threat seriously.”

The soldier’s parents, Bob and Jani Bergdahl, live in Hailey, Idaho.

Facer did not detail the nature of the threat.

On Wednesday, Bergdahl’s hometown abruptly canceled plans Wednesday for a welcome-home celebration, citing security concerns over the prospect of big crowds — both for and against the soldier.

Nearly a year ago, on January 2, 2012, eight Democrats in the House introduced a curious piece of legislation – H.R. 3741: Federal Death Penalty Abolition Act of 2013, which seeks to abolish the death penalty under federal law. But the bill has only just been discovered by the media, notably The Hill on Dec. 16, 2013: Rep. Donna Edwards (D-Md.) and seven other Democrats have proposed legislation that would eliminate the possibility of imposing the death penalty for a range of federal offenses, including several categories of murder and crimes against the government like treason and espionage. The Federal Death Penalty Abolition Act, H.R. 3741, would end the death penalty for assassination or kidnapping that results in the death of the president or vice president, and also ends it for the murder of a member of Congress.

Last week Obama took to his teleprompter to tell the American people the United States will provide lethal aid to “moderate” mercenaries fighting in Syria to overthrow the al-Assad government.

Obama’s declaration was nothing new. In September, the mercenaries said they were receiving weapons from the United States. Obama had promised the arms a few months earlier but the media insisted “U.S. officials are still grappling with what type and how much weaponry to send the opposition forces and how to ensure it stays out of the hands of extremists battling for control of Syria,” the Associated Press reported.

In September IHS Jane’s, a defense consultancy, estimated “there are around 10,000 jihadists — who would include foreign fighters — fighting for powerful factions linked to al-Qaeda.”

U.S. Government Tricked Moms Into Killing Their Babies

Vulnerable, first-time single mom Sharrissa Cook signed up for what sounded like a support group after she delivered her son, Dreshan, born at 25 weeks and weighing a feather-light 1 pound, 11 ounces.

Instead, Cook, then 26, unknowingly put her critically ill, preemie son into a federally funded, experimental trial that subjected babies to the risk of brain injury, blindness and even death.

“I was under the impression this was more of a support group … where they would be holding our hand throughout the process,” she told a public meeting hosted by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services last August.

Cook’s confusion stems from the experiment’s name, SUPPORT, which stands for Surfactant, Positive Pressure and Oxygenation Randomized Trial.

Instead of a support group, what she actually joined was a controversial, federally financed research effort to determine the best oxygen levels for severely premature infants.
