R-S.C Tim Scott’s blowout primary victory shatters left’s racism narrative

Liberals like to claim that all conservatives are racists, but Tuesday’s blowout victory for Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., who won with 90 percent of the vote, would seem to shatter that myth. Conservatives took to Twitter to celebrate while slamming leftists who routinely use the race card.

“I think the real feel good story last night was how the racist Republicans overwhelmingly voted for Sen. Tim Scott,” one person tweeted Wednesday morning.

“Perhaps I’m missing something, the [RACIST Tea Party] voted for Sen. Tim Scott, a black man, w/90% support but fired its white Party leader!” added a Twitter user using the handle “Black Republican.”

1. Networks Fear Immigration Reform ‘Dead’ After Cantor Loss, ABC Urges Obama ‘Act On His Own’

After Republican House Majority Leader Eric Cantor’s stunning primary defeat Tuesday night, the broadcast networks Wednesday morning wrung their hands over the loss and fretted that immigration reform, which Cantor supported, was doomed. On NBC’s Today, political director Chuck Todd declared: “…this, by the way, means immigration reform during the rest of the Obama presidency, the idea that it’s gonna happen, is dead. It is not going to happen in 2016.”Co-host Savannah Guthrie worried: “Is anything going to happen? I mean, I guess the question is whether Republicans will be so spooked by someone in such a strong position of leadership being vulnerable that they won’t want to compromise even one bit.” Todd replied: “They’re going to be afraid to do anything the rest of this legislative…

Los Angeles judge Rolf Treu declares teacher tenure unconstitutional

a12iggymom's Blog

By Eric Golub, Communities Digital News

A Los Angeles judge Tuesday struck down teacher tenure and other California laws that offer job security to educators, a decision that is expected to trigger widespread challenges of teacher job protections nationwide.

Plaintiffs in the case argued that California children who are poor receive an inferior education because they are saddled with the weakest teachers, who are entrenched in their jobs and are difficult to fire. Superior Court Judge Rolf Treu sided with the plaintiffs against some of the most powerful labor unions in the country, striking down California’s teacher employment laws because he determined that they violate students’ civil rights.

Calling it a landmark decision, attorneys for the plaintiffs said that California was just the start of a planned effort to knock down tenure in a state-by-state campaign across the country. Those who have opposed tenure — from the right and…

School Shooting Claims Debunked

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot

One independent journalist single-handedly eviscerated an infographic that was created by Everytown for USA, a pro-gun control group founded by former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, and circulated on social media Tuesday.

In the wake of a shooting at a high school in Oregon that left two dead, including the gunman, Everytown circulated a map which showed 74 school shootings that have taken place in the U.S. since Dec. 2012, when Adam Lanza killed 26 at Sandy Hook elementary school in Connecticut.

By using the Sandy Hook massacre as a frame of reference, the Everytown map left the impression that the shootings included on it were similar, claimed Charles Johnson, the freelance journalist who critiqued the graphic.

Johnson, who has written for The Daily Caller cross-referenced each shooting, details of which Everytown listed on its website.

“By my count,” wrote Johnson, “fewer than 7 of the 74 school shootings listed…
