Tolani Ajayi, the 21year old Redeemer University student who hacked his father to death on Tuesday July 3rd (read here), has finally spoken to reporters about what led him to kill his own dad.
Speaking to journalists today at the Eleweran Police Headquarters, Abeokuta, Tolani said he attacked his father after he (the father) beat him with a stick, which he said made him very angry.
“There is no way Nigerians can help me. I am going to face my judgement. I am meant to pay for what I have done. It is not as if I am ready, it is something that is inevitable – something that is going to happen; I am just waiting for it.
The incident happened around 1 a.m. when the church would have been sleeping by then. It was anger that led me to this.

Our Independence Day celebrations were deliberately disrupted and dampened by numerous discouraging stories about the invasion of our country by hordes of “unaccompanied alien children”. These “children”, most of whom consist of young men in their late teens, are illegally entering our country after traversing at least a thousand miles of the deserts of Mexico, a country which seems to be doing nada to stop them. Hundreds of the “unaccompanied” are age two or younger. Imagine them crawling or toddling across the border!

For the Washington Examiner, Byron York reports: It’s still a little unclear exactly how much money President Obama will request to deal with the crisis of thousands of families and unaccompanied children crossing the border into the United States illegally.

But there are indications the vast majority of the funding will go to caring for the illegal immigrants who are already here — feeding, housing, and transporting them to new American homes — while a far smaller amount will go to sending some of those immigrants back to their home countries and preventing future immigrants from crossing into the U.S. illegally.
