While some gas customers in Missouri and Oklahoma are paying less than $2 a gallon today, AAA tells me the average price in New York is about $2.88.
That’s nearly a half-dollar more than the national average of $2.39.
The answer to why gas costs more here won’t come as much of a surprise for anyone who’s lived in New York for very long: the taxes, of course.
How much tax, you wonder?
Here’s the breakdown, according to the American Petroleum Institute.

  • ·8.5 cents, state excise tax
  • ·42.2 cents, other state taxes/fees
  • ·18.4 cents, Federal excise taxes

That’s a grand total of approximately 69 cents per gallon, or about a quarter of the $2.88 you’re paying right now.
And, about 8 cents of that is going into the state’s Dedicated Highway and Bridge Trust Fund, a…

Obama’s Enemies List DECEMBER 19, 2014

President’s Political Junkets Continue Unabated
Who is On the Obama Enemies List? Judicial Watch Sues to Find Out.
The President from ACORN
President’s Political Junkets Continue Unabated
It has become a tiresome, tedious – and costly – routine. Hollywood calls with a passel of cash, and President Obama comes running – at great expense to taxpayers – to fill up his political coffers. That’s what we discovered anew after obtaining records from the U.S. Department of the Air Force highlighting yet another Obama fundraising trip to Los Angeles and San Francisco, California. These documents came to us in response to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request filed on October 20, 2014. Instead of advancing the nation’s interests and keeping the public trust, the president is instead, once again, using taxpayer money to subsidize lavish political junkets.
On October 9, Obama attended a ritzy fundraiser hosted by Hollywood actress Gwyneth…

Project Veritas: Did we do enough?

Being my worst critic, you can imagine the answer.

Project Veritas
Around this time each year, I do my best to take the time to reflect on the year and ask the question, “Did I do enough?”

Being my worst critic, you can imagine the answer . . .

. . . if I only had . . .

. . . if I only did . . .

. . . if there was just more time.

When I started Project Veritas just a few years ago, it was just me and a handful of people.

Today, we’re not much larger, I’d say just much more efficient with a team of dedicated professionals.

Thankfully, they helped me out with our “Year in Review” and I have to say, I’m proud of what we accomplished together in 2014. I hope you are as well.

Here’s a quick recap of our accomplishments in…

Arizona’s Sheriff Joe Arpaio came on the Breitbart News Sunday Show on Sirius XM Patriot radio to talk about the national war on police with host Stephen K. Bannon. “America’s toughest Sheriff” started off with a bang telling Breitbart’s Executive News Chairman that, “I’m going to court tomorrow, down in Washington, suing Obama, so we’ll see how that goes.”

Arpaio is suing the president, arguing that the imposed executive amnesty is unconstitutional. He is also suing Obama for ordering the release of some 4,000 criminals from his jail over the last year. He told the Daily News back in November that one of the many negative effects of the new executive order “will be the increased release of criminal aliens back onto streets.”
The sheriff said that he believes the heightened rhetoric coming from politicians and community leaders about police brutality…

Parents in Farmville, North Carolina want to know why their children were given a Common Core vocabulary assignment in an English class that promoted the Prophet Muhammad and the Islamic faith.

“It really caught me off guard,” a Farmville Central High School student who was in the class told me. “If we are not allowed to talk about any other religions in school – how is this appropriate?”

The Islamic vocabulary worksheet was assigned to seniors.

“I was reading it and it caught me off guard,” the student told me. “I just looked at it and knew something was not right – so I emailed the pages to my mom.”
