‘F–king Nazi Pigs!’: An occupy 4th of July

The “Occupy” crowd is assembling in Philadelphia through July 4th for a “national gathering” and, despite the usual claims of non-violence and tolerance, a wave of video and social media has revealed quite the opposite.

On the movement’s website, the event is described:

From June 30th to July 4th, the Occupy movement will convene the Occupy National Gathering in the vicinity of Philadelphia’s Independence Mall for a week of direct actions, movement building and the creation of a vision for a democratic future. The National Gathering will kick off with a massive march with Healthcare-Now! in solidarity with their fight for the right to health. On July 5th we will conclude by joining Guitarmy for a 99 mile march from Philadelphia to Wall Street in Lower Manhattan.

There is even a promotional video. See it, below:

Are Occupy Oakland Members in Favor of Sex Trafficking?

Editor’s note: the following post contains graphic language and video. Discretion is advised.

On June 13, apparent members of Occupy Oakland staged a counter-protest at the H.E.A.T. (Human Exploitation and Trafficking) conference to end human exploitation and trafficking.

Why on earth would they do that? While the Occupy movement has long struggled with having a cohesive message, some of the signs indicated that rescuing girls from lives of prostitution constitutes racism, and that the police and “patriarchy” shouldn’t have control over such matters.

A Facebook page dedicated to the event explains: “The H.EAT. conference is a conference of pigs and their nonprofit lackeys to increase the harassment, imprisonment, marginalization and criminalization of sex workers. Fronting as a conference against ‘child trafficking,’ this conference brings pigs and nonprofits together to develop policing strategies that line their pockets…”

70 House Members to Call on DOJ to Investigate SWATting of Conservative Bloggers

Earlier today, Breitbart News reported that the recent SWATting attacks on several political writers and commentators have been gaining traction in the mainstream media:

Today, CNN featured a story centering around CNN contributor and RedState managing editor Erick Erickson, the latest victim in a series of incidents in which an imposter mimics the phone number of a target, then calls the police and confesses to a violent crime. Such confessions often result in law enforcement personnel, many times special weapons and tactics teams (SWAT teams), responding to calls with full force, risking the life and health of the target. This tactic has been called SWATting by the FBI.

Later, on his own radio show, Erickson played a recording of the 911 call that triggered the visit from law enforcement to his home. He went on to describe the series of events that occurred on the evening of May 27th. As he discussed the recent letters sent by Georgia Senator Saxby Chambliss and Texas Congressman Kenny Marchant calling on the Department of Justice to investigate the SWATting incidents, Erickson announced a breaking development regarding Congressional actions:

I have been told that Monday, the House of Representatives will engage on this and seventy or more members will formally be sending a letter to Eric Holder, asking him on behalf of these members of the house to also get the FBI involved.

‘What Would Hitler Have Done With Fox News?’

Progressives from across the country have come to Providence, Rhode Island, this weekend to party and network for the “giant family reunion for the left” — the Netroots Nation Conference. After a crushing loss Tuesday following the failed attempt to recall Governor Scott Walker, Wisconsin activists served as the reunion’s grumpy uncle.

At the “Take a Walk, Scott: Post-Mortem of the Wisconsin Recalls” session one particularly ticked-off panelist engaged in several frustrating rants slamming Walker’s reforms, campaign finance law, and the media.

“What would Hitler have done with Fox News,” exclaimed Harry Waisbren. “It’s impossible to imagine the power of propaganda system that we have right now, and there is no counter. The one percent is able to buy our media.”

According to Waisbren’s twitter profile, the Wisconsinite is currently transplanted in New York City as an organizer for the Jobs Party ”building #Occupy #WIunion momentum.”

The Hitler analogy came about during a segment of the discussion where panelists dissected a television advertisement by Governor Walker. The activists argue the advertisement misrepresents job creation statistics in Wisconsin over the last two years.

Earlier in the session Waisbren bragged about “cheesehead rallies” he organized in front of Fox News’ New York City office last year, where the Wisconsinite claims the number of protesters were in the thousands. He claims the event later inspired actions of MoveOn and Rebuild the Dream. The National Review caught one of Waisbren‘s protests in front of Rupert Murdoch’s home last summer. At the protest Waisbren claimed “Fox News is a criminal organization,” in front of a crowd that NRO reports made it up to 35 or 40 people, but with the press reportedly far outnumbering the demonstrators.+

Ron Pagano: Salisbury’s Loony Occupy Leader Who Spouts Lies

A Letter to the editor:

Everyone leaves a legacy. When you die, you’re remembered, perhaps, for how you tried to make a better world for your children and grandchildren. Rep. Andy Harris’ legacy will be one of “lies, misleading distortions and half-truths” resulting in a less-safe, less-healthy world for women, children and the chronically ill.

The Republican playbook in 2012 includes taking credit for other people’s work. Romney tried to take “a lot of credit” for the auto industry recovery. Bogus is the nicest word I can muster on that claim.

Not to be outdone, Harris issued a news release last week claiming credit for keeping the U.S. Postal Service from closing facilities or offices. Can anyone tell me what Harris did? Anyone familiar with this issue — including hundreds of postal workers on the Eastern Shore — know it was Sens. Barbara Mikulski and Ben Cardin who led that fight. Mikulski even sent letters to Harris seeking his support to save these jobs — without even a response. Chalk one up for lies.

Polls show how most women feel about the lack of Republican support on issues ranging from health insurance to equal pay for equal work. Harris and his extremist cohorts have failed to support women’s issues. Of course, it should be different when it comes to violence against women, right?

Wrong. Last month, Harris and other right-wing radicals refused to extend the Violence Against Women Act, which has reduced domestic violence by 58 percent since 1994. Last week, in an attempt to fool women everywhere, Harris voted for a gutted version. The purpose was to muddy the waters and by confusing people, to appear to care about women.

What is it about the treatment of women in the 1800s that is so appealing to Harris? Here’s one for the misleading distortions column.

Now, for half-truths.

Truth: Harris talks big on making America energy independent. So why do we sell America’s oil and natural gas abroad? Why hasn’t Harris supported research into alternative energy sources that could reduce traditional energy costs? Why is he so intent on supporting fracking? The answers: Harris’ contributors want bigger profits. Fracking is being suspended by other countries and across the United States, because of health and pollution dangers.

Will it create jobs here on the Eastern Shore? No. But Harris gets lots of money from the Koch brothers and other out-of-state supporters in the oil industry. Harris has even voted to take away all powers of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to control greenhouse gas emissions, which affect our health and the environment.

These are just a few issues that affect Harris’ legacy. Ask yourself: Is this a legacy I would be proud to leave my children and grandchildren? I sure wouldn’t.

The lies just keep coming from the left. Are they capable of telling the truth or being moral at all? I do not think so.
