What a peaceful bunch huh? Crybabies will act like children.

The place: Los Angeles, a city that has a population of 3.7 million and is located in a metro area that has nearly 13 million people.

The time: Middle of the afternoon on a cloudless Saturday.

The event: A protest march by Occupy LA to the downtown financial district.

Number of protestors: According to the LA Times, “several hundred.”

What? A protest march held in a city of millions and the best they can do on a Saturday afternoon is get “several hundred” protestors? Where’s the “99%?”

And what about that Washington, D.C. protest march to the convention center where “hundreds” of marchers tried to block entrance to a conservative conference? A bastion of liberalism and a hot bed of Occupy support can’t get more than a couple of hundred protestors to march against evil Republicans?

The only time these marches have any numbers at all is when organized labor is involved. Even then, the Occupy Oakland march had less than 5,000 on Thursday with less than 3,000 actually making it to the port – most of them bused to the demonstration by unions. This after the mayor gave the “general strike” her blessing and unions announced their full support. There was massive coverage before the march in the local press with promises from organizers that “tens of thousands” would show up. Phooey!

The actual encampments – including the supposed epicenter in New York – of Occupy groups are small, pitiful places whose numbers are exaggerated by the homeless, the derlicts, and drug dealers.

Meanwhile, the press continues the fiction that this is a “growing” movement – an irrestistable tide that will sweep the tea party aside and impact the election in 2012.

Balderdash!

Three people arrested Thursday night inside the Occupy Boston camp have been charged with dealing crack cocaine.

WBZ NewsRadio 1030’s Carl Stevens, who spent the night at the camp a few weeks ago, talked to a man who spends most nights at Occupy Boston. He said things have gone downhill.

“Things have changed drastically. It seems to be deteriorating,” the man told Carl. “A lot of drug use, alcohol use, people getting into fights… It’s deteriorating pretty quick.”

There’s a growing concern among police that people getting out of prison are coming here for the free food and shelter.

Mayor Menino’s sentiment reflects that concern.

“They have a message that’s not a clear message. The problem we have today is that we have different groups infiltrating the people who have the message. We have anarchists who are part of the group. We have homeless individuals who are part of the group,” Menino told WBZ NewsRadio 1030.

An Occupy Wall Street protestor was arrested early Friday after a violent rampage at a McDonald’s that refused to offer him free food.

The NYPD says it happened at about 2:45 a.m. at a McDonald’s near the make-shift tent city in Zuccotti Park.

Fisika Bezabeh, 27, went into the world’s largest restaurant chain and demanded free food, apparently craving a burger over the gourmet food being served in the park.

The people behind the counter, who are working instead of protesting, were not about to offer the man free food.

Bezabeh then turned violent, ripped a credit-card reader from a counter and threw it at workers before police arrived and arrested the protester.

There have been growing concerns about security and lawlessness among the protesters. Earlier this week, a cook at the camp was arrested on sex charges.

And video surfaced Friday morning showing two of the protesters having a fist fight inside of the park.

INVASION OF THE ADULT BABIES:

The Coalition of Eastern Shore Progressives (CESP) will be staging a protest this Saturday, November 5th, at 11am. The group is targeting the local Bank of America branch, located at 1145 S. Salisbury Blvd, across from Salisbury University.

This action is being held in conjunction with MoveOn.org’s National Event, urging members to move their money out of the Big Banks that were responsible for the financial meltdown and continuing attacks on their customers and the American taxpayer. There will be hundreds of protests across the country, at local branches of Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Chase, Citigroup and other Banks Too Big To Fail. It is hoped that the action will generate changes at banks, and additional government regulations that will prevent the same type of financial debacle as the country suffered in 2007, including the massive unemployment, foreclosures and loss of $20 trillion in Middle Class wealth.

Taxes have come to the forefront of debate lately, thanks to Obama’s children — the useful idiots the first thing about taxes if their liberal arts degree’s depended on it. They are only concerned about taxes as they apply to the rich … their knowledge begins and ends with this: The rich need to pay more taxes. You’ll see their signs, “eat the rich” or “make them pay.” So if you are unfortunate enough to engage with one of Obama’s children, be armed with the latest facts on the rich and taxes. From Michael Walsh at National Review:

* In tax year 2009, the top 1 percent of filers — those “millionaires and billionaires” with adjusted gross annual incomes of more $343,927 whom the Occupy Wall Street rabble is demonizing — paid nearly 37 percent of federal income taxes.

* The top 10 percent with incomes over $112,124 (say, a New York City cop and a teacher filing jointly) paid more than 70 percent of income taxes.

* The top 50 percent (starting with princely incomes over $32,396) paid — wait for it — nearly 98 percent of all federal taxes.

Here are a few more fun stats from the Tax Foundation … well … as fun as taxes can be:

* In 2009, the top 1 percent of taxpayers—1,379,822 of them—paid more than the bottom 90% combined. Geographically, this is equivalent to a city the size of San Antonio, TX paying more in income taxes than every person living west of the Mississippi.

* Likewise, the top 0.1 percent—138,000 taxpayers—paid a greater share than the bottom 75%. In other words, a city the size of Dayton, OH would have paid more than a country the size of Germany.

Obama’s wealth envy campaign is based on fear, not facts.

age, the enigmatic Occupy Wall Street protest has from the beginning appeared like a well-orchestrated, well-funded endeavor, complete with paid organizers, lawyers, equipment and supplies, medical station, pretty maps, website, Twitter, lots of cardboard and Sharpie pens on hand, and a toll free information number.

But looks can be deceiving. In an effort to establish just who is behind the movement, how it began, and its actual goals, we caught up with one of the first on the scene and it turns out the protest was not planned. A group of young, unemployed college graduates were heading to the circus to look for work. They took a wrong turn, and ended up on Wall Street. Things have merely snowballed since then.

John Stringer is a 24 year old from Philadelphia. He and a gaggle of friends were attempting to navigate their way to the circus without the use of any GPS, because they shun all man-made goods, so they took the train for a while, then a car, then hired a taxi, and somewhere along the line took at least one wrong turn. “We were trying to go to the circus, because…well, because it’s fun! And because, maybe they’d give us jobs, because, like, no one else will. And we, like, we have tattoos and s**t, and like, our clothes aren’t from Brooks Brothers, so no one will hire us to do normal s**t. But f**k it, we don’t want to do normal s**t anyway! We’re like snowflakes. We are all unique. The circus appreciates that, but like, now, we’re getting fed so we’ll stay here and hold up some signs until they run out of food to give us. Maybe we can stay here all year. This is so cool, man.”

Last Thursday was officially “Diaper Need Awareness Day” in the State of Connecticut. Were you aware of it? There are so many awareness-raising days, it’s hard to keep track. Maybe we could have an Awareness-Raising Day Awareness Day. At any rate, the first annual Diaper Need Awareness Day was proclaimed by Dan Malloy, governor of the Nutmeg State, and they had a big old awareness-raising get-together in New Haven. It’s not clear yet whether they’ve got an official ribbon. We’re running a bit low on ribbon colors these days: It’s not just pink ribbons for breast cancer, but also teal for agoraphobia, periwinkle for acid reflux, pink-and-blue ribbons for amniotic fluid embolisms, and pinstripe ribbons for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. We could use a Ribbon-Hue Awareness Day to raise awareness about how we’re falling behind in the race for more ribbon colors.

If you’re wondering what sentient being isn’t aware of diapers, you’re missing the point: Connecticut representative Rosa DeLauro is raising awareness of the need for diapers in order to, as Politico reported, “push the Federal Government to provide free diapers to poor families.” Congresswoman DeLauro has introduced the DIAPER Act — that’s to say, the Diaper Investment and Aid to Promote Economic Recovery Act. So don’t worry, it’s not welfare, it’s “stimulus.” As Fox News put it, “A U.S. congresswoman in Connecticut wants to boost the economy by offering free diapers to low-income families.” And, given that sinking bazillions of dollars into green-jobs schemes to build eco-cars in Finland and a federal program to buy guns for Mexican drug cartels and all the other fascinating innovations of the Obama administration haven’t worked, who’s to say borrowing money from the Chinese politburo and sticking it in your kid’s diaper isn’t the kind of outside-the-box thinking that will do the trick?

In fact, the federal government already provides free diapers for at least one lucky American. Stanley Thornton Jr. of California receives Supplementary Security Income disability checks from the Social Security Administration in order to sit around the house all day wearing a giant diaper and a giant onesie, sucking on a giant pacifier and playing with a giant baby rattle. Stanley Jr. runs a website for fellow “adult babies” called BedWettingABDL.com. I believe I first heard of the “adult baby” phenomenon some years ago in London. If memory serves, there was a club, and the members lay around in giant cribs being read bedtime stories by a bosomy nanny. Minor celebrities and possibly backbench Tory members of Parliament may have been involved. In those days, it was what we called a “fetish” and you had to do it on your own dime. Now it’s a “disability” and the United States government picks up the tab. And, if that’s not progress, what is?

Sen. Tom Coburn happened to catch Stan with his babysitter and fellow disability-check recipient on a reality show, and wondered how a chap capable of running a popular website and doing such complicated carpentry jobs as his own giant highchair could be legitimately classified as “disabled.” But the Social Security Administration said Junior qualifies, and Senator Coburn was condemned as heartless: Why, if those mean Republicans got their way, the streets would be crawling with giant babies bawling, “I want my mommy!” Conversely, if Congresswoman DeLauro gets her way and the stampede for government Huggies gets going, Stanley Thornton Jr. will still be entitled to park his giant pedal car in the disabled space while the penniless single mom from Hartford has to leave the Toyota at the back of the lot and hike in.

President Barack Obama and Occupy Wall Street are speaking the same language.

In his weekly address to the nation, Obama cited an economic report showing that the middle class has lost ground to “the top one percent.”

“The average income for the top one percent of Americans has risen almost seven times faster than the income of the average middle class family,” he said. “And this has happened during a period where the cost of everything from health care to college has skyrocketed.”

Obama explained that Americans should not spite the wealthy, but that prosperity should be available to all classes.

“Now, in this country, we don’t begrudge anyone wealth or success — we encourage it. We celebrate it,” he said. “But America is better off when everyone has had the chance to get ahead — not just those at the top of the income scale. The more Americans who prosper, the more America prospers.”

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney, at his Friday briefing, tried to tie the “Occupy” movement’s frustration to the administration’s counterparts in Congress.

“The President has said that he understands people’s frustrations,” Carney said. “He understands that those frustrations are felt very broadly by the American people — at least those frustrations that have to do with the fact that the economy isn’t strong enough, the fact that unemployment is too high, and the fact that Washington is dysfunctional because of obstructionism by Republicans in Congress.”
