EGYPT: Devout Muslim groups attempt to legalise Paedophilia

More of Obama’s war on women, the fallout of Obama’s pro-sharia foreign policy. Much thanks to Assad Elepty for sending this.

EGYPT: Islamists & Salafist attempt to legalise Paedophilia

National Council for Women (NCW) called on Egypt’s Ministry of Interior and security officials in Egypt’s northwestern governorate of Matrouh, Saturday, to take the required action to find Sara Abdel-Malik, a 13-year-old girl who was reportedly kidnapped in September.

Abdel-Malik’s father had filed a complaint to the the national body for women’s issues, reporting that his teenage daughter was kidnapped after leaving school on 30 September.

According to the father, the girl was kidnapped by a young man who forcibly married her despite the fact that she is still a child.
In the Saturday statement published on their official website, the NCW expressed its complete rejection of child marriage, adding that it is forbidden under Egyptian law. The legal marital age in Egypt is currently 18 years old.
In May, a controversial law lowering the marriage age was put to the now-dissolved People’s Assembly (lower house of parliament), sparking uproar among women’s rights organisations. Similarly, human rights groups and political figures condemned recent calls by Islamist members of Egypt’s Constituent Assembly to reduce the marital age for women to as young as nine years old in the draft constitution.

In addition Article 36 threatens equality between men and women by saying that the state shall ensure equality between men and women as long as it does not conflict with “the rulings of Islamic Sharia” and goes on to say that the state shall ensure that a woman will “reconcile between her duties toward the family and her work in society.” This provision is inconsistent with the provision in the same chapter that prohibits discrimination on the grounds of sex. Discrimination against women under Egyptian law, and in particular in family law, is a longstanding problem, but keeping the reference to “rulings of Sharia” in the new constitution would open the door to further regression in women’s rights, Muslim Women are already discriminated against when it comes to matters of inheritance.

In a later interview Makhyoun said on the live TV program Al Ashira Masa2an that in keeping with the tradition of the prophet girls should marry as young as 9. Some Brotherhood members and all Salafi members of parliament are determined to amend Egypt’s child law to lower the marriage age from 18 to 9. One of the frequently criticized forms of human trafficking in Egypt is that young girls from poor families have been trafficked to the Gulf for early marriage.
“It is particularly reprehensible that committee members should bow to pressure to exclude language criminalizing sexual harassment and trafficking of women and children when this is not only a serious crime under international law, and is clearly happening,” Houry said.

Afghan ‘Woman of Courage’ hailed by Michelle Obama for defending women’s rights has actually JAILED 100 wives for ‘adultery’

What an utterly clueless horse’s ass. Another failed photo op for a $5,000 dress, eh, Meesh? Interesting that we get this news from the foreign press, as the American media is too busy licking Michelle’s Manolos.

You don’t stick your toe into matters that you know nothing about, or worse, pretend to know nothing about how you’re advancing the evil agenda of the world’s most violent and extreme ideology, the sharia.

Although I’ve always thought a little sharia would benefit Michelle immensely.

Afghan ‘Woman of Courage’ hailed by Michelle Obama for defending women’s rights has actually JAILED 100 wives for ‘adultery’ The Daily Mail (hat tip Jack the mack)

More than 50% of women jailed for adultery in Afghanistan come from province prosecuted by Ms Bashir which holds just 20% of the population

Last year she was hailed as one of the most influential people in the world – a defender of women’s rights as Afghanistan’s only female head prosecutor.

Ms Bashir has been lauded by both Michelle Obama and Hilary Clinton – and she was one of ten women to receive a ‘Women of Courage’ Award in Washington last year.

But Maria Bashir’s reputation is now in doubt after the Times revealed that Ms Bashir is also the most prolific prosecutor of women for Afghanistan’s so-called ‘moral’ crimes, such as adultery.

While Ms Bashir campaigns against abuse husbands, more than half of the 172 women jailed in Afghanistan for sex outside of marriage (known as ‘zina’) have come from her province.

Metropolitan Transportation Authority Bans Free Speech

The epic battle between American Freedom Defense Initiative executive director and blogger Pamela Geller and The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) culminated with a court decision that forced the transit authority to permit the display of controversial ads about radical Islam. But the story didn’t end there. As TheBlaze reported this morning, Geller’s case caused the MTA to rethink the manner in which it handles First Amendment issues, leading to the adoption of some potentially-controversial measures.

On Friday, TheBlaze spoke with a spokesperson who confirmed some of the details surrounding the case, while clarifying the new changes that passed on Thursday. As noted, one of the emergent provisions that was added into the public company’s advertising standards in the wake of the Geller debate allows the MTA to deny ads it believes could incite violence (this was not mentioned in the press release the agency put out about the changes).

As previously noted, a document, reflecting yesterday’s changes, was provided by the MTA to TheBlaze this morning. It highlights the transit authority’s advertising standards and reads, in part, “The licensee (‘advertising contractor’) shall not display or maintain any advertisement that falls within one or more of the following categories.” One of the category sections reads:

The advertisement, or any information contained in it, is directly adverse to the commercial or administrative interests of the MTA or is harmful to the morale of MTA employees or contains material the display of which the MTA reasonably foresees would incite or provoke violence or other immediate breach of the peace, and so harm, disrupt, or interfere with safe, efficient, and orderly transit operations.

Ads Calling for the Defeat of ‘Savage’ Jihad Going Up in NYC Subways

A provocative ad that equates Muslim radicals with savages is set to go up in the city’s subway system as violent protests over an anti-Islamic film ridiculing the Prophet Muhammad sweep over much of the Muslim world.

A conservative blogger who once headed a campaign against an Islamic center near the Sept. 11 terror attack site won a court order to post the ad in 10 subway stations next Monday. The ad reads, “In any war between the civilized man and the savage, support the civilized man. Support Israel. Defeat Jihad.”

The ad was plastered on San Francisco city buses in recent weeks, prompting some artists to deface the ads and remove some of the words, including “Jihad,” or holy war. The blogger, Pamela Geller, said she filed suit Thursday in the nation‘s capital to post the ad in Washington’s transit system after officials declined to put up the ad in light of the uproar in the Middle East over the anti-Islam film.

Nigeria: Muslims murder 52 in Christian villages

Muslims in Nigeria blame the Christians, of course. “52 Killed in Central Nigeria Raids and Reprisals,” by Ahmed Saka for the Associated Press, July 8 (thanks to Pamela Geller):

Raids and reprisal attacks have left 52 people dead in Christian villages near a Nigerian city where authorities have struggled to contain religious violence, officials said Sunday.

Assailants launched “sophisticated attacks” on several villages near Jos early Saturday, said Mustapha Salisu, spokesman for a special taskforce made up of policemen and soldiers deployed in the area to curb years of violence.

“They came in hundreds,” Salisu said. “Some had (police) uniforms and some even had bulletproof vests.”

He said the special taskforce fought back for hours and lost two policemen in the battle. Salisu initially said that 37 people were killed including 14 civilians and 21 assailants.

However, later in the day, Nigerian Red Cross official Andronicus Adeyemo said aid workers had counted 52 dead and more than 300 displaced people from the attacks. He did not give a breakdown….

Mark Lipdo, who runs a Christian advocacy group known as the Stefanos Foundation, gave a list of the 13 villages where he got reports of attacks. He said they were all Christian.

He blamed Muslim herdsmen of the Fulani ethnic group for the attacks. However, Nurudeen Abdullahi, Plateau State Chairman of Miyetti Allah Fulani Herdsmen Association, denied any involvement by the herdsmen.

“This a usual propaganda used on our people but we are not the ones that attacked the villages in the area,” he said.

Abdullahi accused Christian farmers of attacking Muslim settlements and stealing their cows….
