CAPITOL POLICE SUDDENLY WANTS TO SEE TEA PARTY WEBSITES BEFORE JUNE RALLY
And they are taking weeks to approve the request.
The Tea Party Patriots were planning a rally in Washington DC on Wednesday June 19th.
But they ran into a wall.
The Capitol Police want to see their websites first.
Kevin Mooneyhan from the Tea Party Patriots described this latest Tea Party challenge:
Below is the timeline of events surrounding our June 19th rally at the Capitol. We haven’t done anything to publicize this event yet because we wanted to make sure we had the permit in hand. You know, follow the rules, do the right thing, etc.
Event Date: June 19, 2013
Permit Submitted: 5/22/2013 via fax
Officer Brown contacted me on 5/23 to ask me 2 questions
If we would have a banner and if so what the dimensions would be and how we would hang it.
If we were going to have buses and to make sure that we coordinated with Union Station since the Capitol couldn’t accommodate buses.
The impression that I got was that it would likely be approved in a few days. She told me, “Hopefully the next time you hear from me, it will be to let you know that the permit is approved.”
The following Tuesday, 5/28/13 I reached out to Officer Brown for an update and she told me that it had been submitted upstairs for approval and that 3 sargeants still had to sign off on it. She didn’t know when the final approval would be.
June 4, 2013: I contacted Officer Brown again to inquire about the status. She told me that it wasn’t submitted to the higher ups until last Friday, May 31, 2013. This contradicted the earlier phone call. She said she would follow up on it and contact me later this afternoon. I didn’t confront her about the conflict of information because at the time I didn’t have the exact dates of when I communicated with her. But her comments made me suspicious, which is why I went back to look at the dates that I made contact.
June 4, 2013: I reached out to some contacts I have on in Congressional offices to see if there was anyway that they could help speed along the process. The response they received from Captiol Police was that they wouldn’t speak to them because they weren’t the party who submitted the application.
June, 4 2013: Jerry Bell contacted me to inquire about the permit.
** Is the purpose of your event to promote government accountability?
My answer was yes. This was also indicated on the application
** Have you ever had an event on Capitol grounds before? If so, when was the last one?
My answer was yes and March of 2012.
** Have you ever had any opposition to your cause show up at these events in the past?
My answer – possibly. If there was any opposition it was a small amount. Nothing ever escalated beyond civil conversation.
** Do you know of any opposition that will be at your June 19th event?
My answer – not at this time because we haven’t publicized the event yet because we wanted to make sure we secured the permit first.
** Have you invited any members of Congress to the June 19th event?
My answer – I have informed some Members of Congress, but official invites have not been extended because we are waiting for approval of the permit.
** Does your organization have any social media sites like Twitter or Instagram? I know that you have a Facebook page.
My response – yes we do, but I’m not sure why this is relevant to the application.

The organizers of the Tea Party Patriots have called for a nationwide protest Tuesday against the Internal Revenue Service to challenge the government agency’s abuse of power while targeting Tea Party groups.
The planned protests will take place at IRS offices around the country at noon. The Tea Party Patriots website highlights more than 100 IRS offices where protests are planned.
Although many Tea Party groups exist, the Tea Party Patriots is one of the most influential coalitions, with more than 3,000 organized chapters.
The organization is sending out protest information, talking points, sample press releases and sample sign messages, as grassroots organizers demand a Congressional investigation of the IRS.
Tea Party Patriots is also asking group organizers to report IRS abuses, by filling out a “Did the IRS target you?” form.
Glenn Beck on Tuesday responded to the tragic events surrounding the bombings in Boston, laying out his thought on everything that has occurred in the last 24 hours and blasting President Obama for initially refusing to call it “terrorism.”
“Our President yesterday wouldn’t even come out and say that it was an act of terror,” Beck began.
“He had to have somebody make a statement after his statement. I found it reprehensible. I don’t care who did it,” he added. “I don’t care if it was the head of the Tea Party Patriots. If they did it, it was terror. Period. Because I have a feeling that if it was the Tea Party Patriots that did it, boy, he would with glee deem it terror.”
Following Monday’s deadly blasts, President Obama in a brief address to the nation vowed to hunt down those responsible for the attacks. Absent from his remarks, however, were specific mentions of “terrorism.” A White House official quickly clarified in a statement to POLITICO that the administration indeed views the attacks as “acts of terrorism.”
Still, Beck decried the tendency on the part of some to live a “life of denial … pretending that the terror doesn’t exist.”
“Labeling things ‘workplace shootings’ or ‘workplace incidents’ is not going to heal us,” he added. “If we refuse to face the things that are real in our life, and face the consequences of the things that we ourselves (in some cases) are responsible for, it will only make things worse.”
“I also know that we are not responsible for acts of terror. Acts of terror are created by madmen. Period,” he added:

Breitbart News spoke to James Michael Holmes, the Tea Party member falsely identified this morning by ABC News’ Brian Ross and George Stephanopoulos on Good Morning America as the possible suspect in the mass shooting early this morning at a screening of the new Batman movie, The Dark Knight Rises. He is a 52-year-old Hispanic conservative who joined the Tea Party after becoming disillusioned with the Republican party.
“It was freaky,” said Holmes, describing his reaction when ABC News speculated that he was the culprit who entered a crowded theater and opened fire on dozens of innocent men, women, and children. He disconnected his telephone and says that he is worried about members of his family who might be contacted by the media.
ABC News has since corrected its initial report, but tried to share the blame with “social media” and “members of the public” at first:
An earlier ABC News broadcast report suggested that a Jim Holmes of a Colorado Tea Party organization might be the suspect, but that report was incorrect. Several other local residents with similar names were also contacted via social media by members of the public who mistook them for the suspect.

Sen. John McCain delivered a rousing endorsement Friday of Republican Senate candidate Sharron Angle and urged cheering supporters to send her to Washington as part of a historic turnaround in Washington power.
A confident-sounding Angle, locked in a tight race with Majority Leader Harry Reid, predicted “there is going to be shock and awe in Washington” on Nov. 3, the day after the election.
“We need to take back our economy,” she said. “It’s our government and it’s our money.”
McCain, the 2008 presidential nominee, told the crowd at a Las Vegas casino that the “election will change America. The world is watching.
“Sharron brings hope and Sharron brings action,” he said after embracing the former Reno legislator on stage, with an oversized American flag draped behind them.
McCain’s appearance was intended to bolster Angle’s credibility, particularly with moderates, in a campaign in which Reid has relentlessly attacked her as a fringe conservative unfit for office. A succession of speakers, including actor and conservative activist Jon Voight, said her election would help turn back two years of Democratic policies that had damaged the nation’s standing at home and abroad.
The invited crowd cheered, “Dump Harry Reid.”
Across town, Reid was targeting Filipinos, the second largest foreign-born group in Nevada, at a crowded rally with popular Filipino boxer and congressman Manny Pacquiao.
Reid and Pacquiao entered the room to chants of “Manny, Manny.” In a brief speech, Pacquiao endorsed Reid in his native Tagalog.
Reid, a former boxer, denounced Angle’s conservative views, her criticism of Social Security, Wall Street regulation and public health care for veterans.

A new organization just popped up on Facebook. This is in response to the local Tea Party being co-opted by the MDGOP as well as, the local MD chapter of AFP. It seems so many conservative groups who begin with the right intentions and the right people, are overtaken by ego’s, self-serving interests and political opportunists. It seems it is easier to co-opt and organization when those people are fighting a war on both sides. So many in the Tea party are fighting against socialism, but also with many who call themselves conservatives, but who are not. The country club Republican is back with a vengeance and trying to steal the Tea Party for their election purposes.
Well, it seems a few in Maryland are fed up with it all. It would be nice to keep things open to all and allow anyone to come in. However, that is how the Salisbury Tea Party came to an end. Things must be controlled in a tighter fashion and members must be known, as well as, their intentions. A leaderless organization is pure and true ideology, but alas, also the quickest way to fail.
Some of the things American Patriots For Liberty stand for:
The American Constitution
The U.S. Republic
The American People
Principle over Party
A strong National Defense
The Free Market
The Fair/Flat Tax
This is a new organization that is just coming together and was born from the phone calls between just a few locals on the Eastern Shore of Maryland a month ago. More information on them will be comign soon as they are intent on not being co-opted and building a non-profit chapter.
