Google on Tuesday sharply challenged the federal government’s gag order on its Internet surveillance program, citing what it described as a First Amendment right to divulge how many requests it receives from the government for data about its customers in the name of national security.

The move came in a legal motion filed in the secretive Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court and was aimed at mending Google’s reputation after it was identified this month as one of nine U.S. Internet companies that gave the National Security Agency access to data on its customers. Revelations about the program, known as PRISM, by a former NSA contractor has cracked open a broader debate about the privacy of American’s communications from government monitoring.

The publication of such data requests would answer questions about the number of Google users or accounts affected by U.S. intelligence activities. But it wouldn’t answer more critical questions on how much data is being disclosed, including whether information belonging to Americans has been swept up into investigations on a foreign targets.

“Google’s reputation and business has been harmed by the false or misleading reports in the media, and Google’s users are concerned by the allegations,” according to the company’s motion. “Google must respond to such claims with more than generalities.”

Google has previously disclosed the number of data requests it receives from civilian law enforcement.

On Monday, conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh exposed the Republican politicians, donors, and consultants in the permanent political class that want the immigration bill to pass so they can benefit at the expense of American workers.

He said “big money” has trumped politics and principles in the push for “amnesty.”

“I think a number of elected Republicans are taking a look at their donors, and are listening to their consultants, and they are seeing that people that are donating big amounts of money to them want amnesty,” Limbaugh said on his show on Monday.

He named Republican consultants like Frank Luntz, Mike Murphy, and Steve Schmidt as those establishment Republicans who do not know any better. He said these consultants tell politicians that money will dry up if they do not support amnesty. Limbaugh then named prominent Republican donors, who often work with these consultants, that also want the immigration bill passed so they can get an influx of cheap labor.

“All of the Republican major donors want this bill,” he said. “I’ll give you some names. The Koch brothers, Sheldon Adelson. I mean, they want the bill, because they want the influx of new labor. They want it. They’re not concerned with how anybody’s gonna vote down the line. As long as these guys can stay aligned with whoever is running government, they’re in fat city.”

The time has come for men and women of integrity, with an unwavering commitment to freedom and the Constitution in their hearts, to come together once again, en masse, to show the ruling class in DC that their long train of abuses has come to an end.

Join Tea Party Patriots and many others for an Audit the IRS rally on the west lawn of the Capitol in Washington, DC on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at high noon.

The members of the ruling class, from both parties, are outing themselves in the wake of scandal after scandal, as they seek to do damage control and circle the wagons around each other. That foul stench emanating from Washington, DC is the fear they have of losing their power. For four years, the tea party movement has been sounding the alarm that big government is out of control in every way, in every department, in every agency, in every branch of government, and in every party.

Which scandal gets under your skin the most?

Is it Fast and Furious? Is it Benghazi? What about the State Department covering up misconduct and halting investigations? The NSA spying on innocent Americans.

What about the IRS targeting, discriminating against, and oppressing the speech of conservative and tea party groups? Or perhaps the IRS illegally leaking confidential donor information of conservative groups to their political opponents? Or maybe it’s the fact that the IRS spent $50 million in two years on conferences, parties, and really awful parody videos for their employees? Could it be the IRS stealing millions of private medical records? Or was it when the federal government asked American citizens for the content of their prayers.

On Wednesday, at two rallies bracketing the Capitol, Tea Party and conservative activists will again take center-stage on two issues dominating the national political dialogue. Reps. Steve King, Michele Bachmann and other members of the Tea Party Caucus will host a nearly day-long dialogue and discussion on immigration reform. On the other side of the Capitol, Tea Party grass roots organizations will hold a rally to “Audit the IRS,” in response to the agency’s efforts to intimidate conservative organizations.

The immigration event hosted by Rep. King begins at 9am on the East side of the Capitol. The morning event will run until Noon and feature several members of Congress and national conservative leaders. Glenn Beck, who was an early supporter of the Tea Party movement will speak at the event.

At Noon, on the West side of the Capitol, Tea Party Patriots are hosting a rally to “Audit the IRS.” Sens. Rand Paul, Ted Cruz and many member of Congress are scheduled to speak. Glenn Beck and other conservative leaders will also speak.

The event, attended by activists from around the country will draw new attention to the IRS scandal, where the agency targeted groups and individuals based on their political activity. The IRS scandal is simply the most egregious example of an Obama Administration singling out conservative organizations and individuals for differential treatment. The EPA, Labor Department and other federal agencies have exhibited similar behavior.

After Chief Supreme Court Justice John Roberts voted to uphold the Affordable Care Act, more commonly known as “ObamaCare,” many wondered if there could be a yet-unknown reason why the Republican-nominated justice made the unexpected decision.

On the Glenn Beck radio program Tuesday, Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) explained why he believes Roberts was intimidated into changing his vote late in the process, as laid out in his new book Why John Roberts Was Wrong About Healthcare.
