Student Suspended For One Year After Hugging Teacher

A Georgia high school student slated to receive a full athletic scholarship to college will not graduate on time after being suspended for one year last week as punishment for hugging a teacher in Nov.

17-year-old Sam McNair of Duluth High School was found guilty of violating the school’s rules regarding sexual harassment for a hug that was captured on video by a surveillance camera.

The teacher alleges McNair’s lips and cheeks touched the back of her neck, but the student has adamantly denied such allegations.

“I did not,” McNair told KCTV.

“Something so innocent can be perceived as something totally opposite,” he added.

North Carolina Democrat warns private school vouchers will lead to terrorist kids

North Carolina’s superintendent of public instruction has warned that the state’s new voucher law could end up funding schools run by hardened terrorists who will churn out little terrorists hell-bent on the destruction of America.

June Atkinson made the comments while speaking at the state school board association’s public policy conference last week in Wilmington, reports local NBC affiliate WECT.

“With the voucher legislation that we have we could be in dangerous territory as far as taxpayers’ dollars going to private schools,” Atkinson told reporters.

10-Year-Old Suspended for Shooting Imaginary Bow and Arrow

A 10-year-old Pennsylvania boy was suspended from school for making an imaginary bow out of his pencil, pulling back an imaginary string and shooting an imaginary arrow in October. Now, his parents have legal help and are trying to fight back.

Johnny Jones, a fifth-grade student at South Eastern School District in Fawn Grove, Pa., joins the ranks of other students who seem to have violated zero-tolerance weapons policies in schools around the country with their pretend weapons made from their fingers or even breakfast pastries.

“[Schools] fighting against anything that’s a gun or weapon of any kind,” John Whitehead, president of The Rutherford Institute and author of “A Government of Wolves: The Emerging American Police State,” told TheBlaze Monday.

These zero-tolerance policies are not only “criminalizing childish behavior,” but they’re “criminalizing the imagination,” Whitehead said.

Proponents of the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) often insist that the new standards are not a federal takeover of education. Actually, Common Core supporters could be right in one sense: Common Core is not so much about a nationalization of education as it is part of a world-wide initiative that may ultimately serve to make American values and practices secondary to global sharing.

Writing at Crisis Magazine, journalist Mary Jo Anderson asserts that Common Core is nothing less than the latest attempt by the U.N. to impose on the United States a globalist perspective with the utopian goals of worldwide peace, environmental sustainability, and economic fairness. In that context, Common Core is part of the Obama administration’s “transformational” education plan that places emphasis on global relationships rather than a unique American culture.

It is commonly known that Common Core is being financed with more than $150 million from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. In addition, the Gates Foundation has collaborated with the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

In 2004, Gates’ Microsoft Corporation signed a Cooperation Agreement with UNESCO to develop a “master curriculum” which would include benchmarks and a testing program. According to the agreement, “UNESCO will explore how to facilitate content development.”

It seems like almost every day we read a new account of unionized public school officials engaging in improper conduct with children.

A second-grade teacher and an assistant principal have been removed from student contact at Jordan Elementary Community School in the Rogers Park neighborhood while Chicago Public Schools conducts an investigation into their conduct.

“Chicago Public Schools is reassigning both employees away from the classroom pending the outcome of our investigation,” CPS said in a statement.

Don’t worry about these potential predators. The union has their backs!

CPS has been investigating allegations for the past few months, Miranda said. “There’s a process to these things agreed upon in the union contract,” he said.

Parents are rightfully upset because the school system never informed them that there was a problem during the past few months while an investigation was being conducted. Sound familiar?

Maybe before throwing stones at the Catholic Church, progressives should clean up their own institutions, which appear to be far less safe than any church.
