During his press conference on Wednesday, President Obama seemed a little confused as to whether or not sanctions against Russia are working. In the same response to a question from NBC News White House Correspondent Chris Jansing, the President said he did not know if the sanctions are working, but that they are “working the way they are supposed to be.”

Jansing: Russia said today it’s going to ban food and agricultural product imports–that was about $1.3 billion last year. At the same time, Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel said the amassing of troops along the border of Ukraine increases the likelihood of an invasion. Are sanctions not working?

President Obama: Well, we don’t know yet whether sanctions are working. Sanctions are working as intended in putting enormous pressure and strain on the Russian economy.

We are doing exactly what we should be…

UNRWA isn’t Hamas’ human shield. The UNRWA is Hamas.

Posted: 06 Aug 2014 04:53 AM PDT

…Hamas use of the UNRWA as its public face is a war crime, but terrorists commit war crimes without a second thought. But the UN and the UNRWA are complicit in the war crime by allowing Hamas to go on exploiting the UN brand. It’s unfortunately commonplace for humanitarian organizations in war zones to collaborate with terrorists and guerrillas in one form or another. But the UNRWA isn’t just paying money to Hamas in exchange for being allowed to operate, the way that many groups in war zones do, it has allowed Hamas to turn its operations in Gaza into an extension of the terrorist group.

Canada toughens requirements to become a citizen

Canada toughens requirements to become a citizen.

While it seems the way to become a citizen of the United States is to walk across the southern border, wait until President Obama gets around to signing an executive order granting amnesty, and then wait some more, Canada made another legislative change to tighten the process of becoming a Canadian citizen. While these changes are relatively minor, they are part of a larger process to make Canadian citizenship meaningful.

Bill C-24, called the Strengthening Canadian Citizenship Act, was given Royal Assent on June 19 and many of the bill’s provisions became effective on Aug. 1.

The major change in the new law deals with the residency requirements a permanent resident must meet in order to legally apply for citizenship. Under the former legislation, a person must have been resident in Canada for three of the four years before an application…

Russian President Vladimir Putin has banned or curbed agricultural imports from countries imposing sanctions on Russia over the crisis in Ukraine.

In a decree (Russian text), he ordered the measures, which also apply to food imports, to be introduced for one year.
Meanwhile, renewed fighting in eastern Ukraine has forced the suspension of a search for the remains of the victims of crashed flight MH17.

This Shirt Worn by a WWII Veteran at the WWII Memorial Says it All!

This says it all!

ww2-veteran

Our veterans have done so much for this country. How does our government repay them? By sticking them with crap medical insurance and forcing them to die while waiting for care. Our first health care obligation should without a doubt be to our men and women who have sacrificed to protect this country. Agreed?

North American Infidels Debating Tactic #2: “We Respect Jesus”.

1391724_615303888510736_1015731033_n-2-300x187In an effort to counter the 24/7 Muslim propaganda machine, North American Infidels (NAI) presents part II in our new Debating Tactics Series.

Two of the most prevalent talking points I see Muslims use are the “we respect Jesus”, and “Islam respects Jesus”. These are used in an attempt get non-Muslims to believe Islam is close to Christianity, while being non-hostile towards it.

There is much more to the story though! What they do not tell you is that Islam has a different version of Jesus. One that is not the Jesus of Christianity friendly!

The first major difference is that even though Jesus said was the son of God, Muslims do not believe it.

Undesirable, Unconstitutional, Unaccountable: Tennessee’s liberal judiciary may soon be singing the blues

a12iggymom's Blog

Unusually, Tennessee holds its state primary on a Thursday and that just happens to be tomorrow. Over the summer, I’ve been doing my best to educate voters over talk radio, in speeches to community groups, and writing. The text below, a version of which was published in the Chattanoogan suggesting that Tennessee’s liberal judiciary may soon be singing the blues, is a good (but certainly not exhaustive) summary of the situation in Tennessee and what folks should know.

Undesirable, Unconstitutional, and Unaccountable

For just over four decades, Tennessee judges have been selected through a scheme that is undesirable, unconstitutional, and unaccountable. The contrivance was conceived by a Democrat legislature desperate to build a firewall around the judiciary as Republicans made political gains, and has since been dominated by special interests working their own ends.

The result has been a predictable sea change in jurisprudence: the new faction of judicial elites…
