Qur’an Sura 5:51, “O you who believe! do not take the Jews and the Christians for friends; they are friends of each other; and whoever amongst you takes them for a friend, then surely he is one of them; surely Allah does not guide the unjust people.”

According to many Muslim apologists, Sura 5:51 above is not simply referring to personal friends but also to a Muslim’s allegiance to a non-Muslim state. As the “word of Allah” itself so aptly declares, “He maketh none to share in His government” (Sura 18:26) and freedom, human rights and equality are all restricted by Islamic Law, which is absolutely incompatible with democracy. Unfortunately, the Obama Administration is driven by liberal extremism and political correctness, not by conservative values and common sense, so let’s go ahead and put those whose own religious ideology demands they view a nation like America as an enemy of Islam in positions responsible for the security of the nation…

The Iraqi ambassador told the United Nations this week that ISIS terrorists seized 88 pounds of uranium from Mosul University.
Reuters reported, via The News Commenter:
Insurgents in Iraq have seized nuclear materials used for scientific research at a university in the country’s north, Iraq told the United Nations in a letter appealing for help to “stave off the threat of their use by terrorists in Iraq or abroad.”
Nearly 40 kilograms (88 pounds) of uranium compounds were kept at Mosul University, Iraq’s U.N. Ambassador Mohamed Ali Alhakim told U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon in the July 8 letter obtained by Reuters on Wednesday.

According to Dennis Michael Lynch at DML Daily, some of the illegal immigrants surging across the U.S. border from Central America and creating a growing humanitarian crisis may be wearing tennis shoes emblazoned with images in praise of President Barack Obama.

Lynch explains “I can say the agents who sent these to me is among a handful of agents who have sent me accurate information over the past few months.”

Lynch adds that the agent works at a processing center in South Texas that is managing the massive inflow of illegal immigrants.

On Wednesday, ABC and CBS’s evening newscasts punted yet again on reporting Ray Nagin’s Democratic affiliation, after the disgraced former New Orleans mayor was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for corruption. World News and CBS Evening News previously omitted Nagin’s party ID when he was indicted in January 2013, and after a jury convicted him in February 2014. ABC’s Diane Sawyer hyped that the politician’s sentencing was “a staggering fall from grace for the man who rose to national fame leading his city through Hurricane Katrina,” but failed to mention that the Democrat was widely criticized for his handling of the disaster.

Congressional perks like free gym, haircuts and cars prove a tempting target for candidates

While crises mount abroad and at home, some candidates this year are betting that a big issue for voters will be free gym use and subsidized haircuts on Capitol Hill.

Hoping to tap some of the virulent anti-Washington rage coursing through the electorate, Democratic candidates in Republican-leaning House districts have proposed nearly identical plans to revoke a slew of Capitol Hill perks, such as the taxpayer-funded gym, salon and barbershop services for lawmakers.

They have vowed to stop giving Congress members cars that are leased or rented at taxpayer expense, health care benefits not available to the general public and taxpayer-funded junkets overseas.

Although Republicans dismissed these pledges as gimmicks, campaign strategists say the tactic just might work.

“Members of Congress in both parties are viewed as incompetent and beneficiaries of special favors. That’s a bad combination,” said Gregory R. Valliere, chief political strategist at the independent Potomac…

Golden Hammer: Postal workers caught using travel cards for personal food as costs of mailing rise

Postal workers may be famous for delivering that check in the mail. But they apparently are also good at grabbing cash advances off their official credit cards to satisfy their personal hunger.
An investigation by the Postal Service’s internal watchdog identified hundreds of thousands of dollars in questionable expenses that workers charged to their official travel cards.

WASHINGTON (AP) — By its own estimate, the government made about $100 billion in payments last year to people who may not have been entitled to receive them — tax credits to families that didn’t qualify, unemployment benefits to people who had jobs and medical payments for treatments that might not have been necessary.
Congressional investigators say the figure could be even higher.
