Salisbury, MD: Your Attention is Needed

To all kilbirnie residents:

A very important issue was brought to those attending our Spring General Meeting, Tuesday, march 16, 2016.

Large industrial chicken houses in Wicomico County, Maryland Neighborhoods.

A process is currently in motion to put a massive industrial-sized house operation at the northwest corner of Walston switch and Shavox Roads.

At least four to eight 60-foot by 600-foot chicken houses are planned, which if approved would result in millions of chickens processed each year and thousands of trucks transporting chickens on Walston Switch and Shavox roads.

there is a “Protect the Paleo Channel” Public Forum, which will be held March 22, 2016 at 6 p.m. at the Wicomico youth and Civic Center to address this issue.

Delmar resident and blogger attacks Muir Boda and others with so-called questions…

Joseph Albero said…

Muir, I have a few questions to ask you.

1. Where are YOU going to come up with the funding to properly support the Police Department?

2. You’re in management and employted with WalMart. This is a company in which has DESTROYED the small businesses you claim YOU want to see come here to Salisbury. You seem to point fingers at the Council. While one finger may be pointed at them, three more are pointing at you/WalMart.

3. Be a man and give us names. WHICH Council Members, “an assault on property rights which is fueled by name calling, personal vendettas and an outright refusal of elected officials willing to address the issues that this city faces. Leadership and responsibility have been sucked up into the black hole of gridlock, making our government ineffective on major issues.”

Muir, it has been VERY clear over the years that you are tied with the hateful Jonathan Taylor and have even been a contributor to his hateful Blog. Therefore you have participated in hatred towards numerous women and personal attacks against them, including my Wife. Jonathan called my Grandson a bastard child, my Wife a whore and has even stated she masterbates with shower heads. You know there’s a lot worse, I’m just not going to publish it here. Jonathan is your close friend and quite frankly he’s a scumbag who will do anything to be Joe Albero, including growing facial hair.

So please, do tell everyone why they should pass their vote to you. You have been close with Barrie Tilghman, Chief Webster, Mike Dunn, Gary Comegys, Louise Smith and others.

If you want to run for office, (like you did the last time) you will face these challenges and we expect answers.

it’s easy to write things with “sound bites” and feel good words but quite frankly I go by a man’s past and the people he hangs with. You may be out of the gate early but quite frankly you’ll probably lose once again because NO ONE wants to go back to the way things were and or have been.

In fact, many will probably say you’re the next louise Smith.

I’ll await your reply.

It is easy to sit behind a computer and attack those trying to take our country back.

Wal-Mart has helped thousands of small businesses stay in business and keep their prices in check.

Lastly, just who is Joe Albero to question Muir on these issue’s, especially since J.A. does not reside in Maryland or the Salisbury City Limits?

Watching the watchmen is no crime

Traffic cameras watch your speed, security cameras watch your comings and goings, but is anyone watching the police? Police in Maryland, Michigan and elsewhere would rather you didn’t — particularly not on YouTube. Just last Saturday, Yvonne Nicole Shaw, 27, was arrested in Lexington Park, Md., for recording deputies in her apartment complex responding to a noise complaint. Sheriff’s Cpl. Patrick Handy’s report explained the arrest: Shaw “did admit to recording our encounter on her cell phone for the purpose of trying to show the police are harassing people.” This sounds like she was more of a threat to the jobs of public safety officers than to public safety itself. One is not the same as the other.

Another recent example of contempt for the average camera-wielding citizen in Maryland: Anthony Graber’s home was raided by police, after which he was arrested and jailed, charged with violating Maryland’s wiretapping statute. What did he do? He posted video of a traffic stop during which a Maryland State trooper drew his firearm. For this offense, Graber faces five years in prison.

Reason magazine’s Radley Balko notes that in 2000, Maryland Attorney General Joseph Curran Jr. issued an opinion on whether a plan by the Montgomery County Police Department to install recording devices on patrol officers’ vehicles would violate the wiretapping law. He said that even if an officer inadvertently recorded someone without informing him first, it [was still legal]. Curran wrote that any conversation between a driver pulled over by a uniformed police officer “is difficult to characterize” as “private.”

But Maryland is hardly the only state where watching the police is unwelcome. Several missionaries in Dearborn, Mich., were passing out copies of the Gospel of John from the New Testament to the Dearborn Arab International Festival when they were confronted and arrested by police within three minutes of arriving. Their offense wasn’t merely exposing Muslims to Christian literature — they were also recording police activity on a hand-held camera. When one of the policemen noticed a cameraman monitoring the encounter, he approached and told him to turn it off.

In the line of duty, officers of the law encounter many threats no doubt. But a citizen who knows his rights and owns a camera is not such a threat. As the Roman poet Juvenal asked “Who watches the watchmen?” We do, and should.
