After a concerned mother called 911 fearing her son was choking, an EMS worker proceeded to conduct an inspection of her house on the premise that she homeschooled, telling the woman “we’re agents of the state”.

“The moment your child is complaining that his stomach hurts, then points to his chest instead, and his face is turning red and he’s coughing, so you call 911. Except, when EMS gets there they laugh at you and tell you if it’s asthma he won’t be complaining about “abdominal pain” (except he’s NOT because he’s POINTING TO HIS CHEST!!!) Then the other asks, “Why aren’t they in school?” Then proceeds to LOOK AROUND YOUR HOUSE when you tell her you homeschool!!! Seriously, people, I am not making this up! I. Am. lifefit-recallLifeFit dietary supplement is being recalled because it contains an undeclared controlled substance that was banned in 2010 for safety reasons. Consumers who have purchased this product should not use it as it poses a serious health threat.

Bacai, LifeFit’s distrbuter, is voluntarily recalling the product sold in plastic bottles of 30 softgels with the lot number 13165. The lot number is located next to the expiration date May 2017. It was distributed worldwide to wholesalers, retailers, and through the internet.

An analysis by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) found that the product contains sibutramine, which causes substantial increase in blood pressure and/or pulse rate. This can pose a  in significant risk for patients with a history of coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, or stroke. The drug can also cause a life-threatening situation if taken with other medications.

Boy! I hate making decisions – always have done and I guess by now I never will be comfortable in that particular arena.

I reckon decisions are made every day sometimes quite unconsciously. We make decisions about what to eat, what to wear, where to go, who to see and the list goes on and on.

So in the long run I guess we all make decisions.

On saying that I know deep down that some decisions are huge! We have a struggle with these big decisions striving to make sure we get them right.

Making life and death decisions is frightening and nerve-racking to say the least and making a decision to hand your life over to Jesus is ONE BIG decision that I personally have never regretted.  But for some, I know, that decision has been a struggle that has required heaps of soul searching, contemplation and discipline.

The United States shall guarantee to every state in this union, a republican form of government, and shall protect each of them against invasion; and on application of the legislature, or of the executive (when the legislature cannot be convened), against domestic violence. — United States Constitution Article 4, Section 4

Our country is a Constitutional Republic, not a Constitutional Democracy, however, Barack Obama continually calls it a constitutional democracy and did so again today during a press conference with Angela Merkel. Listen:

The country is being fundamentally transformed from a constitutional republic into a constitutional democracy. The difference between the two is the difference between the United States as it was established and present-day Europe.
