Please let me inherit a double share of your spirit. 2 Kings 2:1-15 I woke up late this morning. Whenever that happens I always seem to find my self behind and it takes a while to feel like I am able to rise up to whatever occasion the day brings. As I struggle to get ahead throughout the day, I remember it’s the 40th day of Easter – Ascension, the celebration of Jesus ascent into heaven after having resurrected and appearing before his disciples. Feeling like I could sure use that double share of spirit, I remembered my praise. Ascension – some days, it feels just like that.

He wanted to commit mass murder in the name of Islam and jihad, and now he wants taxpayers to provide him clothing that reflects those same religious beliefs. And when Judge Scriven granted him permission not to stand when she entered, was she aware of the fact that Osmakac’s remaining seated signifies that he doesn’t respect Infidel laws or authorities, but only the law of Allah, and would consider standing for an American judge tantamount to idolatry — showing respect that is due only to Allah. It is, in other words, a statement of complete disrespect for and rejection of the authority of the court and of U.S. law in general. As such, it should never have been permitted in a U.S. court. But the willful ignorance is all-pervasive.

There is such a comic opera feel to all this, it’s a shame that Gilbert and Sullivan aren’t around. The U.S. is forking over another $5 billion to fight against “radical extremists” — that is, $5 billion to fight against a foe that U.S. officials are afraid to name, and officially forbidden to name. Meanwhile, the U.S. has for years now given billions to Pakistan to fight these shadowy “radical extremists,” only for the Pakistani government (which also affected high dudgeon at the killing of Osama bin Laden) to funnel a good bit of that money to those very same “extremists” — with no consequences from the U.S., of course. John Kerry is the very model of a modern Secretary of State.
Also, if al Qaeda is “on the ropes” and all that, why do we need to spend another $5 billion to fight them?

Obama’s Absurd West Point Speech

Terrorism is our “most direct threat.” We just can’t talk about it.
Barack Obama gave the commencement address at the United States Military Academy at West Point on Wednesday, and piled absurdity upon absurdity.
“For the foreseeable future, the most direct threat to America, at home and abroad, remains terrorism,” he said, but steadfastly refrained throughout his speech from explaining the source of that terrorism threat, much less its ideological foundation or goal. This is, of course, the President who in October 2011 placed off-limits any investigation of the beliefs, motives and goals of jihad terrorists, overseeing the scrubbing of all counter-terror training materials of all mention of Islam and jihad in connection with terrorism.

Does Obama Care About the Troops?

On the day before Memorial Day, President Barack Obama secretly flew into Afghanistan for a surprise visit to the troops. “We’re going to stay strong by taking care of our wounded warriors and our veterans. Because helping our wounded warriors and veterans heal isn’t just a promise, it’s a sacred obligation … I’m here to say that I’m proud of you,” he stated.
But he wasn’t in Afghanistan out of mere pride for the troops. As usual, Obama was using the troops for political purposes. Can Americans Be Trusted to Oversee School Lunches Themselves? DUH! YES!!

First Lady Michelle Obama gives us the answer.
On Tuesday, First Lady Michelle Obama took on House Republicans, criticizing their attempt to roll back the current guidelines for school lunches. “It’s unacceptable to me, not just as first lady but also as a mother,” she declared during a White House meeting with school nutrition officials. “The last thing we can afford to do right now is play politics with our kids’ health. Now is not the time to roll back everything we have worked for.”
The current standards took effect in 2010, when President Obama signed the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act. Its requirements included more fruits, vegetables and whole grains to be served to students, while setting limits on sugar, sodium and fat. It also set a limit of 850 calories per meal.
