Abbott won for two reasons. First, the Australian Labor Party is going through a long-term identity crisis. [Jeffrey] Babbitt [62 yrs old] was minding his own business as he walked through the crowd near the chess boards in Union Square when a man made a hateful announcement and began his rampage, witnesses said.
“He said ‘the next white person who walks by I’m going to [expletive],’” one woman said. “His fist went in and the man’s head bobbed and he hit the ground and you could hear his skull hitting the ground.”

Belgium stops welfare payouts to Islamist fighters
Good. Just like Tamerlan Tsarnaev should have been denied public benefits after somehow coming up with enough money to travel to Russia in search of terrorist training. Not only are their foreign activities evidence that they don’t need the welfare they are receiving, but this crackdown is also a signal that Western governments are wising up to the risks of funding Al Qaeda aligned groups through social welfare.

The Worst Natural Disaster In US History
On hundred thirteen years ago today, a major hurricane was about to hit Galveston, Texas. The massive storm surge destroyed most of the city and killed 10,000 people.
Galveston is close to my heart. I met my wife in Galveston, my father in law was nearly killed riding his bike there, and the man who introduced me to my wife died shortly thereafter of AIDS in Galveston. It was a horrible way to go, but he was thinking about other people right up to the end.
People who claim hurricanes are getting worse touch a raw nerve with me.
